Topic: Italian Special Edition, numero due

I didn't found any discussion on this one, so I start a new topic.

And yes, it's me again with my usual stuff..

Brokeback Mountain has been released in Italy in three different DVD editions: regular 1-disc edition, 2-disc Collector's Edition and 2-disc Special Edition with a book.

The book 'Diversi Amori' is a passage (chapter 'Viaggio' {Travel(ling)} from Pier Vittorio Tondelli's Altri Libertini {Other Libertini} with a foreword from Dario Zonta about Ang Lee directing a western. The book is only sold with the DVDs.

Otherwise the content of the DVDs is the same as on other Special Editions + some bookreading in Italian (Piergiorgio Paterlini's Ragazzi che amano ragazzi).

And...here's a real gem: almost 20 minutes worth of 'dietro la macchina da presa' {behind the camera}, i.e. a real 'making-of': short snippets from here and there when they were filming, without any narration,

As for the background, behind the camera, I cannot help
cause I ignored it. However I should say it's an interesting thing.

As I see it seems this edition underlines above all the particular
bond, which can be a sexual one too,emerging between guys.
I guess it's more concentrated into these aspects of the human sexuality than
about the full university of the message coming from the film. It's only my opinion
but I could commit a mistake not knowing this DVD edition in its fullness.

Any logical explanation for this?

I think it's the passion toward God's things which stay as the most
important things even if one's own life is ruined. So it happened to
two puppets, destroyed and thrown down to the litters, who look at
the sky and, amazed, the clouds....they ask themselves about their
nature but, without understand it, they stay admired by their beauty.

There are some 30 films in this "Le Nuvole" series (with a book), both international and Italian titles, e.g:

Nothing special here but the Italian 1-disc DVD has this familiar picture with a slightly new 'angle' on the inner cover & the Italian scene selection. There's certain symmetry in the titles.

I wonder if the "behind the scenes filming" clips are a prelude to providing us with the deleted scenes too!  One can always wish...

Yes, DB, I wish they were, but I doubt it: the clips were already included in the Taiwanese denim DVD (2006) package and they can also be found on the Mexican DVD (2006). The Italian DVD in question dates back from 2007.

Pieces of useless information...
The back cover says: "Per motivi contrattuali la versione in lingua originale è visibile solo con i sottotitoli." Allora, the English soundtrack is only available with Italian subtitles, because of contractual reasons. I've found the same thing on some Italian&French DVDs/BDs, not elsewhere. Such restrictions are overrideable by software.
