PRIDE MONTH 2011

June is recognized as Pride Month by the Lesbian, Gay Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community worldwide. Events are held in June to commemorate the anniversary of the Stonewall Rebellion in New York City on June 28, 1969, which most historians consider to be the birth of the modern LGBT civil rights movement.

The City of West Hollywood through its Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission, Lesbian and Gay Advisory Board and the Transgender Advisory Board celebrated the many cultural contributions of the LGBT community via a variety of arts, cultural and community events as One City / One Pride 2011

An Out West Weekend in Los Angeles on June 25th and June 26th

WeHo One City/One Pride Culture Series has confirmed our production of Beyond Brokeback on Saturday June 25th in Fiesta Hall at  Plummer Park in West Hollywood at 7:00 PM. This will be with professional actors and singers and cast with Shawn Kirchner and company. The stand-alone reading will be expanded to 75 minutes. (Ryan can't make it)  This event will be free.

On Sunday, June 26th, Out West at the Autry is presenting Patricia Nell Warren reading and signing her new book, My West, in the Autry Theatre at 2:00PM at the Autry National Center in Griffith Park. This event is free with the price of admission

This is a great chance for Forum members to see the production and for those who haven't seen them yet to go over to the Autry to see the Brokeback shirts and meet Patricia.
