The screen you describe is what I get each time I log on - three times today so far.
Good catch. Just adjusted the time.No I don't logout - one time I was able to just go to the forum - other times have to login or it has told me I don't exist or like ww, have to put in the same password (wrong password)and then will let me in. Have clicked on always stay logged in log in forever at various times but still have to login the next time. None of it is very serious and just takes a little more time.

I got an Error message "you have exceeded the limit of 20 personal messages per hour." Well, I only wrote five, not 20. I had 18 to read, but surely how many you read doesn't have anything to do with a 20-PM per hour limit...whatever that means. Any info for me about that? Thank you.

Please also delete temporary Internet files and History. I tried this on my IE7 and it takes care of it.
Nope - still doesn't work. First time I log in after deleting everything I get in first time but next time I get the password incorrect screen. And the "log in forever" option doesn't work.

Yes the no nested quotes were implemented back in October. I agree with you that members should police themselves. We will re-evaluate this.

:s) Strange, coz it does take you to the member's profile.
I just registered as a new member, and went on the map, and when I clicked on the dots , it took me to the profiles.
IE, I don't like Firefox when time comes to edit stuff like the Newsletter
I did it finely,BTW I have firefox as well, and I tried as follows:
Clicked on the name it made the dot on the map blink,than clicked on the dot, only than I ended on profile of the member , feew,wiping sweat from my forehead...lol ::)

You haven't done anything wrong. Since we share the server with other webpages and if too much requests are received by the server at the same time, this error message could occur. I'm just surprised it lasted that long, it usually resolves by itself within 10 minutes. Sorry for the inconvenience but this is not happening very often.

The setting should be all changed. Members should be able to modify or delete their own posts for the regular boards (not the archive). Please let me know if you spot any that is not changed.

Can someone help me regarding the Jake Pix thread? Last I looked, we were on about page 830 or so. Now, apparently, the first however-many pages have been archived, and there are now something like 150 pages. Well, I have notes of what pages I've looked at and what ones I haven't. I was up to page 786, and trying to catch up to 830 or so. So I can't figure out where I left off. I guess I can figure it out -- I was about 45 pages behind, so I guess I can go back 45 pages from the current 150, and that's where I was.
Although there were also pages I hadn't looked at back around page 600 or so. Problem is, I can never keep up with how many pages of pix there are, so I'm behind...
I think this happened once before, and I just missed out on some pages. Oh well... Not like I don't have thousands of saved pix of Jake already!

Don't worry Kathy, we archive once in a while oldest parts of big threads to secure them and make back ups faster and easier, the pages remaining in the live thread are the most recent ones. You will find the 676 first pages archived there:

Which internet browser do you use?
I use firefox mozilla and once I click on Save all pms it opens a page with all the pms , all I then have to do is click on save in the file barre.

When you save the PMs, can you save it as html file or web document? In a web document, all PMs will display including the images.
I guess a folder with all images from the PMs is nice but php file is not user friendly at all.

I did some testing using Firefox and IE and save the page as webpage (HTML only).
Firefox will save a webpage and one folder with all the pix. IE will only save a htm document.
70-page probably is the maximum that the saving all feature will work properly.
Okay, cool. Of course there will never be so many pages in the future, so this is only a one-time hacking-and-saving thing. 70 pages maximum? Good -- I cut it down from 100 to 75 the other night, but then went to something else.
What are the two choices to save again? HTML and what? I'd rather not have the text and pics separately, but still, it isn't that bad this way.

I have a slight problem with notifications about new posts coming to email, they come hours after the post has been posted. I don't think it's a problem with my email because notifications from other forums come on time. Is there a way to fix it?
I'm not sure I understand loreen, maybe you made the login page of the forum your home page when you launch your browser?
I suggest you go to the control/panel/internet options/ and verify what is the home page, if you want it to be the forum just make sure it is www.ennisjack.com
I can't enter my website (on live journal) through the link in my profile. I asked MPJ to check, but she also couldn't.
When I type my address, the LJ opens without problem, and the link from e.g. my email is OK, but from this forum, the link doesn't work. Can someone help me please?

When you enter your website in your profile, you will need to enter both fields - the title and URL. The URL was not entered but I have fixed it for you. The link should be working fine. :cr)

Hi, I'm not sure if it's the right place to ask, but I tried to change my avatar and I don't seem to be able to do it. My old one vanished, but the new one (added from a URL) does not show up and the setting in my profile automatically goes back to "No avatar". Am I doing it wrong or is adding my own avatar impossible?
