To Heath

***

I feel you are still in my heart.
I know you are smiling at all the love sent your way.
And you are finally at peace, surrounded by love and loving memories.

You have always been gifted and giving, even to the end.
You will always be loved, liked this, always.

In these lines, you speak for me too, lance.  You speak for all of us here.

Tizi, I avoided byuing the papers just in case. Seeing that it was everywhere.

But just now they played "You're just to good to be true" video on tv, and I also just a Perth tourism advert.
And I broke into tears...once again.

I saw so many this weekend, and didn't have the heart to pick up any one and take a look.  Perhaps in a few days.  Perhaps never.

FlwrChild - beautiful words :^^)

Cham - beautiful pictures :^^)

I keep trying to do normal things and for the most part, I'm succeeding. But then, something will come to mind and my heart is in my stomach again. Like, I just got a new mobile phone and I was thinking I hadn't had any texts since I got it....which reminded me of the last text I got on my old one, which was on Tuesday, telling me the terrible news....

I'm not crying (except when I read the tributes from his family) but it still hurts. Damn, it hurts.

Thanks FlwrChild, Cham, and NoReins.

Yesterday, I got to meet some friends in the hope of trying to take a break, but we ended up talking about Heath for 4 hours.  I guess it couldn't be helped.

Daniel Day-LewisDaniel Day-Lewis accepts his award for “There Will Be Blood.”
“Heath Ledger gave it to me,” he said. “We wanted to follow him and yet we were afraid to follow him.”
“In Brokeback Mountain, he was unique. He was perfect. The scene in the trailer at the end of the movie was as moving as anything we have ever seen. I’d like to dedicate this award to him.

That's is DDL's quote from his acceptance speech .. <^(

How sweet is that!!!!

DDL is a wonderful person; my respect for him just increased tenfold.

Friday night with some french brokies (HGB, Fredptitefée, canmore, Alec_Scudder, Chrichri and me), we went to watch BBM on theater in Paris. We learned that it was on screen the day before, what a coincidence!

It was very weird and sad at the beggining, seeing Heath on the screen and thinking that he isn't here anymore... And then I felt into the story as the previous times, forgetting about Heath, Jake, the world around me. Just Ennis, Jack and me. In a way, it warmed my heart to see that although we lost Heath, Ennis was still here in front of me, and that he would always be. Being with fellow brokies also helped a lot. We even managed to laugh. Being with brokies is just priceless!

Then, we went to Notre Dame de Paris to light up candels for Heath. It was unseasy because of the wind, but we managed to find a good place just in front of the cathedral and suddenly the wind stopped.
It was so beautiful, we were standing up silently, in front of the candels, thinking about Heath, thanking him.
No need to hide pain, no need to explain, we huged and talked about him. It was a big relief doing it. I feel much better now. Finally we went off, letting Notre Dame take care of the tiny flames glowing in the dark...

Thanks Seb for sharing this.

You are right: he will always be.

HE moves me differently: and yet if I could do it without seeming insane, I'd never see him again! You'll perhaps think me rather inclined to become so,' he added, making an effort to smile, 'if I try to describe the thousand forms of past associations and ideas he awakens or embodies. But you'll not talk of what I tell you; and my mind is so eternally secluded in itself, it is tempting at last to turn it out to another.

DDL and Ryan Gosling's very sincere, very understated expressions of support and remembrance were comforting to see in the midst of everything else. Classy behavior by both. ^f^

Hello Koka.

I also thought it was a wonderful tribute.

The important thing is to remember him -- that way, we can move on.

Hey tpe! Thanks for your words, and you're absolutely right, I'm well aware of that. It's just that it STILL (!) feels so surreal....at times I manage to grasp it, manage to grasp the thought, the idea of Heath PHYSICALLY not being here, but then that thought slips away after a mere few seconds and I end up feeling as if I were in a dream, or a dream of a dream. It is hard to grasp death, grasp the concept of it, I think. Because you see, I sincerely believe that death as such is nothing bad, nothing tragic, nothing that should be feared- I would like to believe that it's like going to sleep. But on the other hand, it IS tragic for the people that are left behind and that will never be able to see that person again, feel that person, talk to that person, look into his or her eyes....and it saddens and pains me that little Matilda will grow up not remembering or knowing her father, that Michelle will have to cope with raising her the best way she can on her own with the painful realization that Heath will never be there to witness her grow up and savor the joys of parenthood with her...

Thank you all for your wise and thoughtful and comforting posts in this thread. They have helped me much. And all the youtube clips.

I have always liked Daniel Day-Lewis and thought that he is very extraordinary actor and person, and this only strengthens my opinion.

Remember - Josh Groban

Remember, I will still be here
As long as you hold me, in your memory
Remember me

Remember, when your dreams have ended
Time can be transcended
Just remember me

I am the one star that keeps burning, so brightly,
It is the last light, to fade into the rising sun

I'm with you
Whenever you tell, my story
For I am all I've done

Remember, I will still be here
As long as you hold me, in your memory
Remember me

I am that one voice in the cold wind, that whispers
And if you listen, you'll hear me call across the sky

As long as I still can reach out, and touch you
Then I will never die

Remember, I'll never leave you
If you will only
Remember me

(Remember me...)

Remember, I will still be here
As long as you hold me
In your memory

Remember, when your dreams have ended
Time can be transcended
I live forever
Remember me

Remember me
Remember... me...

I made this little video about Heath, tears were falling when I made it... :\'(

The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

Oh Twisted.  :\'(  <^(

That was wonderful. The dozy embrace video is one of my favorites, and I find that music to be hauntingly beautiful. You guys are killing me, but it's all so lovely.

For some reason, it has been very important to me this week to keep my feelings about BBM separate from my feelings about Heath. I just can't handle the overlap. But I had to watch your vid and I'm glad that I did, even with the other images that song evokes in my head. Thank you for making it. :^^)

My thanks to all who have made videos. They are not only beautiful, they are an amazing tribute to the man we all love and will miss so much. I appreciate your efforts. :ghug:

Ennis’s eyes gone bright with shock, mouth opening then closing again. “Love?” Ennis said finally, voice strangling in his throat.

Jack smiled sad. “Yeah, Ennis. Love.” Leaned forward and kissed Ennis’s temple, whispered, “What’d you think it was, all this time?”

Found this somewhere and thought I should post.....I personally think it's beautiful and devastating at the same time.

Death is nothing at all

Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped away
into the next room.
I am I,
and you are you;
whatever we were to each other,
that, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
speak to me in the easy way
which you always used,
put no difference in your tone,
wear no forced air
of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we shared together.
Let my name ever be
the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect,
without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all
that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you,
for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just around the corner.
All is well.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you,
for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just around the corner.
All is well.
