Early today, the forum was experiencing technical difficulty with lots of errors. Several attempts were made to fix the problem but not successful.
As the last resort to bring the forum back to a working condition without significant interruption, a restoration of using backup copy was done. Inevitably, some data were lost. The backup was created on March 2 which means all the posts and personal messages, new users registered between March 2 and prior to restoration are lost. As you browse the forum, you may recognize some discrepancy.
New Registered Users between March 2 - March 12 will need to register again.
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. If you have any question, please post in the following thread or contact any mods.

Oh poor girl. I'm so sorry. I have migraines as well. And, to be truthful. I don't like dark forums either, lol. I've been looking for a lighter skin for the forum and have plans to change it actually when I find a good one. So, hang in there, I'm working on it. I just like the brightness of a lighter forum. It's so much easier to use!
I hope you feel better soon
I love the new look Theresa!
I'm writing here to let people know that the release dates of Dr. Parnassus for the UK and the US has been removed from IMDB's list. I quote this post from Theresa's Dr. Parnassus forum:
I'm afraid at this point the the September release date for the UK and USA has now been removed since the deal that was supposed to go through evidently did not move forward. These are now the only official release dates given by IMDb, which is considered the Industry standard.
Netherlands 24 September 2009
Czech Republic 1 October 2009
Belgium 11 November 2009
France 11 November 2009
This usually means that either the distribution deal has changed and not continued forward as expected or that the release date has changed and it is not known what it has changed to or both.
I find it really disappointing, they don't have a release date for Israel either and I was thinking about going to London in June and watching it there. It just shows how important it is that we show the distributors again how much we want to see this movie and how strongly we feel about that. So please, go to the Dr. Parnassus Support Forum and post. this is the link again
http://www.imaginariumofdrparnassus.com/forum/index.php
Thank you!
And I have some good news for you. Parnassus screened in LA last night pre-Cannes premier for distributors.

"Can't open file: 'phpbb_sessions.MYI' (errno: 145) [1016]"
Its from all the crazy clickers flooding the website! Keep it up! :cr)
YAY!!!!  :clap:YEAH, Click,click....
Clickety click!!!!
Oh Loreen, I saw your comments on the forum and I was so happy, and as you see our hits on the main page really make a difference! 50,000 hits in May, just think about it! we are making this forum visible for other people and we bring this movie to their attention. We just have to keep it up! There are a few more release dates for a number of European countries and also for Brazil, but no distributor for North America yet.
Thank you so so much for helping!
I can only talk about my own reasons for what I do here. And, for me personally, I have to say the catalyst is the price Heath paid to make this movie. And, though we all had a terrible loss at his death, it is he who made the ultimate sacrifice at the age of 29. When I'm so tired or dispirited ( and trust me you guys don't hear the tears and worry the way the staff and my contacts do, lol) that is what I keep in the front of my mind. The sacrifice that was made to do this movie and the fact that it may not receive distribution in many countries, simply does not compute for me. I can't and I won't accept it without a fight. That and the fact that this is the last of his work and I can't bear not doing everything I can to see it shown. That's a personal thing for me. I know that a lot of folks don't understand it, but he gave so much and asked for so little in return. His life ended during this film. He was exhausted, suffering from insomnia and ill and he kept on. If he could keep on, I can keep on until we win or I simply have no other alternative. Everytime I feel out of my comfort zone, I remind myself what is at stake. If I quit, then I have let him down in the worst way possible and he added too much to my life for me to do that.
Grrrr, I'll be asleep by then!! I'll check it tomorrow, I'm really curious now...
Our Bruxa is on the Support Site Homepage! I'm so proud of you Bruxa, and Heath would've been proud too!I just hope it works $f$ $f$

C'mon people, send your pics! &**) &**) &**)
Guys I have it now definitely, even if you haven't gotten your release date announcements, the entire market has been sold except the USA! Don't despair if you haven't heard an announcement yet. I am assured by the greatest of authorities that you are sold if in the market of the film. But we MUST get it in the USA, the largest market. Also WE MUST make the world aware of the movie. I think this thing is going to blow up and turn viral. I really do. If so, this is the best possible platform for getting the word out to the world and the industry and get an audience for this movie and a larger release. Please start saying I Want To See Dr. Parnassus Around The Globe From then your country. We don't want to step on toes when territories have been sold and we are just not aware of it yet. We need to turn our focus on telling the industry, I'm from _____ and I can't wait to see Dr. Parnassus. Please help me with this. Keep the photos coming, this is Huge and this is incredibly important that we keep this up.
Or, I Can't Wait To See Dr. Parnassus then under it put the name of your country or city. We have to let the world know it is out there now or those theater seats will be empty and it will last a weekend or so and we have to get it to the US. Our job has only just begun guys. Now comes the real work.
THE MUNICH FILM FESTIVAL WAS A HUGE SUCCESS FOR DR. PARNASSUS!Wonderful news!!! &**)
THE MUNICH FILM FESTIVAL WAS A HUGE SUCCESS FOR DR. PARNASSUS! I've started putting up the photos from Friday night's gala opening if you guys want to copy and paste them please feel free to do so, they're great.
Saturday there was a second, public screening at the festival with a Q&A with Terry and Verne Troyer afterward. We had 3 members attend that screening for us and this morning they tell me they are stil TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY BY THIS AMAZING FILM. They loved it. We'll have a report/review of the screening and Q&A from them on the homepage in the next day or so and you guys are welcome to copy and paste it if you wish.
I've read the screenplay and know that there's a lot of Heath in this film and that it's just the kind of role he could adore and sink his teeth into. They say he's absolutely incredible in the role!
Hugs, Theresa
Theresa. This is fantastic. Will you also post it on the facebook fan page? Love the campaign - it's genius. Such a great idea.
Thank you so much for all your hard work and support for the film. We are all in awe of you.
Thank you.
I have heard from our contingent from our website who attended Munich, the screening of Dr. P and the Q&A with Terry and Verne. I am quite emotional as I tell you that it is my understanding that in that huge theater, full of press and people from around the world, Terry Gilliam talked about our website and how beautiful and wonderful it is and how EVERYONE should go there. He told them that it was run by a lady in Los Angeles (to protect my name and my peace from being contacted by media) and then talked to our people from the website there at the Q&A. It was AWESOME!
We'll have exclusive photos and an article/review this evening hopefully. It is being written now. Our members said they were just so proud when Terry talked about us and our support.
A Thank You From Holly Gilliam To All Of You and She calls the photo campaign GENIUS!
First thing this a.m. I received this very sweet email from Terry's daughter Holly. Holly is the one that Heath drew the heart on her birthday card that the cast all had tattooed on their hand. She also is part of making the movie just like his daughter Amy and runs the movie's official Facebook Fan Page for the movie. Here's Holly's note:
I'm so proud of all of you. Please please keep those pictures coming We want this thing to go viral!
Oh My. They love the campaign! (^) (^) (^) &**) &**) &**)
You see guys, this is actually helping the promotion... please send your pics if you haven't done that yet!! you can either email them to Theresa or PM them to me and I'll pass them on. If you're too shy to show your face on the pic, I already posted here examples for creative ways people found to do it. You can write the message on your back and take a photo of that if you want to! But please send pics, please. It will take just a minute of your time and it's such a great help.
theresa what amazing work you are doing.... ^f^
We Should BE SSSOOOOO Proud
Today an interview was published that was done with Terry Gilliam just before he left for Munich. Terry asked the reporter (phil stubbs) if he had ever heard of our site (then gave the name of the site to Phil) then Terry said, it's wonderful That's where I always go to find out what's going on with my movie!!!!
Then the article moves on and is just amazing. I'm really proud of this becuase this article will go world round. I have posted it on the front page. He also admits that he does the tweeting as Dr. Parnassus on is twitter page which means he was the one who recommended our site on Twitter.
Lastly, there is no more need to worry about the "official" dr parnassus GROUP (not the real fan page) that I discussed with all of you about being unofficial and being pirated from Holly Gilliam last night. Today Holly and I worked together and after numerous attempts to get the administrator to resign and give Holly back her site (the admin refused) Holly was able to convince the person that it was in her best interest to close the false group which has now been done since that admin had no affiliation or permission from the movie to have that site. Which means there is now only one official site and it is the fan page we told you about and that one is official, it is owned and run by Holly, Terry and the moviemakers.
My personal biggest concern was that Heath's little sister, Ashleigh was on the site and thought she was on an official site as was Vince the artist who did Heath's portrait. I have written to both and they now know which site to join.
Thank you guys for seeig us through this. These things hapen sometimes but please know we are watching them to make sure they are correct and you are told truth on all Official News.
Love T
Canada, congratulatons you have a release date in Vancouver of September 23 and distribution throughout your country! More on our homepage.
Keep your fingers crossed that Lionsgate will take it for the USA, but as of now there is no deal. I promise as soon as I know something I'll tell you.Good ... I'm sure it will happen!!! O0 $f$
I only have a moment as I am late for the office and you know me, I'm very emotional about what I am leaving here for you. There is more info on the homepage. THIS is the cover of an EXCLUSIVE magazine article and coverstory that his being done about our campaign for support. Look and this my loved ones and be ever so proud of what you are doing! Love T

I'm posting this message from Theresa - it was posted on the other Parnassus thread but it actually belongs here.
Yes,I agree¡ Maybe distributors could think this was some kind of joke...It's better to use human beings,so let's hope that it's effective¡. :ghug: :ghug: :ghug:

I can't believe he did this!!!!! oh man, I can't believe it... and I just love how he chose to phrase his sign, I think this should be the text on our signs from now on... "I can't wait for the world to see The Imaginarium Of Dr Parnassus".
You bet it made me smile, I did a round of jumping and dancing around the living room! &**) &**) &**) And thank you so much for your words Theresa, I'm flattered and I'm really proud to be a part of this. But you're the one we should all be thankful to, for setting up the support site and starting all this. I imagine Heath looking at all this and smiling up there, and that makes me smile too.
Keren, honey, I posted to you on the support site, but wanted to come here and share this with all of you who have been so supportive and sent your pictures holding signs supporting Dr. Parnassus. I received this photo this morning from some guy in London named Terry Gilliam, who wants to join your photo campaign. I have now put this photo on the homepage. Keren you should be so proud. He obviously is very proud of all of you as well. I know I am. What you are doing is setting a prescendent, you are making very important waves, you are being heard and you are making a difference. God bless all of you for this. You don't know how much it means to this movie and the people connected to it. Heath would be so proud of you!

Love the new vid, and I have a question about that. Is it okay to post it on say a blog or Myspace page? Just to help get the word out and that kind of thing.
No problem if that's not allowed, I was just curious.
Congrats to everyone who contributed. This is turning into a very big deal!

I'm so glad you were there! I practically squealed when he entered the chat room. I thought it went really well, people behaved wonderfuly, LOL. Oh and I loved how he compared Heath to Buster Keaton... he had so many talents that the world was not aware of yet.
Thank you so much for being there and supporting us. It was awesome, wasn't it. I was just so proud of everyone for being so kind and gracious. It was adorable at the end when everyone jumped in to thank him and send him sweet thoughts. It was like this big wave of kindness. I loved it.

I also wanted to tell you a bit more about the wonderful things that's been happening on the Support Site:
As you know we had a live chat with Terry Gilliam on July 24th. The chat was great, Terry was so nice and generous with his answers to our questions about the movie and Heath, he thanked all of us for our support and at the end of the chat revealed that he's hoping to announce the US distributor soon. The transcript of the chat is available on the Support Site for all of you to read, here is the link: http://www.imaginariumofdrparnassus.com/gilliam_chat_transx.
Terry is also foing to be the judge in our fan video contest! Details about the contest can be found on the homepage and there are great prizes for the winners, with the first prize being a special gift from Terry himself. He's so kind to give us his time and support, and it's not every day that your home-made video is being viewed and awarded by a world-wide famous director with a 40 years career of filmmaking!! I still can't believe that...
We have also been contacted by the BFI (British Film Institute), a famous and distinguished organization, which led to another great contest on the Support Site: During the month of August the BFI will have special screenings of all of Terry Gilliam's movies in different locations in London, in order to promote the impending release of Dr. Parnassus. The first 5 members who will answer correctly to the Terry Gilliam Trivia on our hompage will each get two tickets from the BFI to see the movie of their choice in one of those special screenings. 4 winners have already been announced and I'm just sorry I don't live in London!!! I'd LOVE to see The Brothers Grimm on the big screen, since I didn't know who Heath was back when it's been released. Anyway, I think this contest is so exciting mainly because of our collaboration with the BFI, and they were the ones to contact us which means they learned about our site and our global campaign and wanted to support us. It's such an honour I'm just blown away.
Finally, the Support Site is designing a t-shirt called “Parnassus For The Masses” to raise global awareness and support The Imaginarium Of Dr. Parnassus, that you can all order. We want to follow the tradition that Terry and all the actors (Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell & Jude Law) set for completing Heath Ledger’s final film as an act of love from them and $5 from the sale of every t-shirt will be donated to the Heath Ledger Scholarship which was created by Heath’s friends and family after his death to help aspiring Australian actors. After the sale of the shirts has ended, that money will be turned over to the Australians In Film as a gift from the fans and supporters of this film in his honor. THE SUPPORT SITE WILL MAKE NO PROFIT FROM THE SALE OF THESE T-SHIRTS. ALL COST WILL BE THE COST OF THE T-SHIRT WHICH INCLUDES THE DONATION TO THE SCHOLARSHIP AND SHIPPING. I will not post any link on this thread since it is against our site's policy to post any commercial links, but those of you who are interested in getting a shirt just keep an eye on the Suppost Site homepage as it will be posted there.
Of course, I want to remind you all that the fans photo campaign is still on, even my mom and dad agreed to take photos. ;D We've collected 70 photos so far, well done everybody! Don't be shy to recruit your friends and family, every photo is greatly appreciated.
Let's get the world to see this movie. Maybe we'll even get another award for Heath... ::)
It's my pleasure Theresa, I'm totally into this in case anyone hasn't noticed ;D. After losing Heath it's the only thing that gives me comfort now, to know that I can do this last thing for him. Thank you for making it possible.
This wonderful fan video was made as an entry to our Imaginarium Of Dr. Parnassus Support Site Fan video contest by MiniAngel of Melborne Australia.

Everyone is in for such a delightful surprise with these amazing videos. There are 14 of them and every last one of them is incredibly special in its own way. They come from all over the world and it is the most moving thing to see this dedication and emotional as well as physical commitment to Heath's last performance. It's beyond humbling. They are brilliant, they are poignant, they are funny, they are incredibly imaginative. Please try to watch each one. I will put up a link to a playlist where you can view all of them tonight and also I will be putting one a day on the homepage for its place in the sun because every last one of these videos is fabulous and deserves to be recognized on its own merit. I'm just thankful I don't have to do the judging. I'm glad Terry Gilliam has to do it. I wouldn't be able to choose.
I'm really excited to see all the videos, I got teary-eyed watching this one by mini. It was really from the heart, and described so well this magical journey that we're lucky to be a part of. this is our way to keep Heath alive.
I'm also so excited about the magazine that's going to be published online tomorrow. Any idea what time it would be? I'm 10 hours ahead of you, and I'd really like to get to read it tomorrow and not wait until sunday...
Hi everyone,
As I promised, here is the link to all 14 of the amazing fan videos Keren has been telling you about for the contest Terry is judging. Every one of them is unique and precious in its own right. I am so very proud of each one. I will also still be putting one of them a day on the homepage so that each one has it's moment in the sun, regardless of what place it takes in the contest. They all deserve that. They are all just wonderful.

I watched all the videos, I’m in awe of everybody who made them. They all speak from the heart, and it’s so heartwarming to see all the work and love that’s been put into them. The love and devotion which this film has inspired are simply overwhelming.
Fausta, were you able to download the magazine and open it? I downloaded it but I wasn't able to open the file and it drives me crazy, I'm dying to read it!!

YAY! It has been announced today that Dr. Parnassus will be a gala at the Toronto Film Festival. The date has yet to be determined! http://imaginariumofdrparnassus.com/blog/imaginarium-of-dr-parnassus-to-be-closing-gala-at-the-toronto-film-festival-closing-gala/04/ (http://imaginariumofdrparnassus.com/blog/imaginarium-of-dr-parnassus-to-be-closing-gala-at-the-toronto-film-festival-closing-gala/04/)
Whut!?! ??? can't wait for the date and might try to get there! :P
Christie, do you remember when we first heard that Candy was going to Toronto. Lord, that seems like a lifetime ago doesn't it. You know I was talking to Luke the other day and he asked me for the Dr. Parnassus web address so he could go to the site (which he loved) and he said I love your passion for these movies, "Keep sticking your neck out, I promise no one will chop it of."
Yeah, I do remember that Theresa...all that wonderful excitement we had. I know this time round its very different, but its still brilliant news :)
I can't wait to find out what her prize is... it's a surprise from Terry x***x
Huh guys, ???
Mod's hat on. I don't want to rain on your parade (the trailer is indeed amazing) but links to the trailers should be posted in the proper thread, where they were posted as well, please avoid duplicate posts as we try here to help to get the movie distributed in North America. All the other stuff like pictures from the movie or trailers should go only there (http://ennisjack.com/index.php?topic=12652.0) as they are...
*o) here.
Thanks for your understanding!
Mod's hat off. :)
I understand, thanks Theresa. :)
I just wanted to share with you an update on the stats of our Youtube channels (how many views our channels have had and how many views collectively the videos on those channels have had. And I also want to share with you the status of TIODP on Youtube.
Here are the view stats on our main channel, JodellesImaginarium, which was started in May and contains all things directly related to the film.....
Channel Views: 2,188
Video Views: 73,383
Here are the view stats on our subsidiary channel, JodellesImaginarium2, which was started in June and contains off topic things of interest about Terry and the cast, as well as our fan-made videos.....
Channel Views: 1,459
Video Views: 50,496
I hope it's bringing some people to our Homepage here.
Also, we were, I believe, the first channel to have the new trailer (on our main channel); or one of the first. I have also since loaded it to our sub-channel. And the number of other channels on Youtube that have been uploading the trailer seem to be multiplying by the hour. Some of them are "friends" of our channel; some not. But I think this speaks VOLUMES about the true public interest in this film....
Normally, when you do a Youtube search for a film trailer (at least any I've ever searched for), you find a few uploads... two, maybe three, occasionally five.....
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus new trailer currently has THIRTY-FIVE uploads. And more than that for sure, because I stopped counting after 35. I've seen it on channels from all over the globe, some with subtitles in other languages. I think it's just such a huge testament to the interest in the film, in Terry, and in the cast.
Variety Says Sony Classics To Distribute Dr. Parnassus In USA
http://imaginariumofdrparnassus.com/blog/variety-agrees-with-brendon-connelly-says-sony-classics-to-distribute-dr-parnassus-in-usa/13/
If we do not have this grassroots campaign we are very likely looking at the same sitaution as Candy with THINKfilm. Extremely limited release. We have to force Sony to put it out there.
When the dust settles on all this in about a week we are going to have an online chat to which everyone will be invited and brainstorm and suggest ideas to help this situation. We cannot let this happen to Heath's last performance. It is inconsionable.
Theresa all you have to do is ask and I'm there. I don't know the ins and outs of this industry, I can't think beyond posting photos and making videos, but I'm on board with whatever new idea we come up with. We'll do everything we can to raise more awareness, and I hope that once it opens word-of-mouth will do it's work too, an enthusiastic response should encourage more people to go and see it as it was with BBM.
To be honest I'm quite concerned since Israel doesn't have a release date either. How can I be really sure that it'll be screened here??
I would appreciate anything you can find out about a release in Israel Theresa, thank you.
Brendon Connelly has been great, I'm so glad he joined us in our efforts. We've been lucky to have some great journalists backing us up during this. There was someone else whom I thought it'll be worth contacting, if you haven't done that already, that guy from the US... I need to check on the support site and find what he wrote again and I'll mention it there.
After seeing the trailer I'm even more determined that this movie should not be watched on dvd alone, it HAS to be seen on the big screen, the images are stunning. You HAVE to watch it on a big screen to get the full effect. And you're right, Heath cannot have only limited release - his work should get the atmost respect it deserves.
Oh my god, just look at what these wonderful fans from Brazil did... :\'( <^(

If you ever asked yourselves how much Terry Gilliam appreciates the support site and our campaign, look at this personal drawing he sent to Theresa! That's Dr. Parnassus sitting on his theater wagon, and I think that's us pushing it up the hill   . Such a sweet thing of him to do, I can't believe he actually sat and drew this!!

I wanted to be sure to share these with you guys. They're absolutely precious. They were sent to me today by Terry and Verne Troyer. I hope they make you feel as special as you are and let you know how very much your support of this movie means and is needed. Heath would be so very proud of all of you.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT MADE BY SONY PICTURES CLASSIC - THEY WILL DISTRIBUTE DR. PARNASSUS WITH DEC. 25, SELECTED THEATER RELEASE!!
**While we're all very happy that US finally have a release date, the fact that it's going to be "selected theater release" is not good, and here is Theresa's explanation as to what it means: "They’ll be big cities Los Angeles, New York, possibly Chicago. It’s going to be up to the fans to get it out of LA and NY and get it around the country. That’s the reason we are starting our US campaign and gathering information now so that we can make it known that there is an audience and fans out there for this film in the USA and they want to see it all over the country in their hometowns. This is the reason we are asking you guys to request pre-ordered tickets. If you do, even though they aren’t selling tickets for the film yet, a report of these requests and what cities they are from will go to Sony Pictures Classics. It’s very very important for fans to do this."
Verne Troyer joined our photo campaign!! Yeepee!!! &**) &**) &**) &**) &**)
He's been so wonderful all along, you're all welcome to thank him here:

Theresa, that description of Heath just got me all teary. :\'( <^( I could actually picture him exactly as you described. I can't thank you and Keren and all the people who have worked so hard on this enough. Truly. :^^) :^^)
I've been out of the country so out of the loop for a while but I'll get right on those e-mails with the theater information and the petitions to the newspapers. It's amazing that Sony has chosen to use the support site as a main reference. If anyone ever doubted what one person, and then one more, and then one more, could do when they're really determined and devoted, the proof is here. And I'm so proud of all of you! :ghug:
Hi my wonderful Heath friends! Sending tons of love and appreciation your way!
I have something to share with you that I hope makes you really proud and makes you realize how very important your participation has been and continues to be in supporting Dr. P. Sony Picture Classics has done something pretty much unheard of in the industry and given us a great honor. Instead of making their own official "For More Information" page for their official Dr. Parnassus website page, they have chosen The Imaginarium Of Dr. Parnassus Support Site as their official "go to" page. When you go to their official page on their website for Dr. P and click the "for more information" button, it takes you straight to our site. You are being heard. Now we have to keep up the momentum. We have gotten past the distributors but it is now the most critical part of our journey, exhibitors.
You have all been so amazing. If I were to live a hundred years, I could never express my gratitude to you and to ennisjack. I just know Heath is up in heaven with that lopsided little grin saying, "will you just look at that!".
Without all of you, we are nothing but one more website. Thank you all so much.

No problem hon, I'll send you a transfer with the design and the instructions. Just promise me you'll wear it when you go to see the movie... and if anybody asks you about it, tell them all about the support site! ;)
Thank you for posting it Theresa, I wanted to let people know the new dates... have you seen that Tizi, there's a release date for Austria!
Done and done

aww, what a gorgeous video :) They seem such nice, genuine people with so much enthusiasm for the film and for the support forum. It was so nice to have all the Gilliam siblings together too :)
Now this is what I call dedication. My hat's off to these people! (:* (:* (:* (:* (:*
Aren't they just beautiful! I'm so proud of them. We're going to do it in LA as well for anyone who wants to join us and also I'm looking to find a group to help me do it in NYC if anyone is interested. Please just contact me or Keren. It should be fabulous fun. Then hopefully we can do it in other cities. We'd like to do it around the world. Just let me know if you're interested in doing it in your city. These people had the time of their lives. Heath would have loved this.
Theresa, I'd love to participate in the NYC effort but it all comes down to scheduling and whether I'd be able to travel at that time. I'll keep an eye out for updates. :)
Yes,this video is beautiful and Heath would have been so inmensely proud of all these persons who are doing so much for his movie... :_( I would like to do it in Barcelona, why not?.
Aww, thanks for sharing that. :ghug:
(I love England Dan and John Ford Coley, by the way)
And you know you could never let Heath, or any of us, down. We'll make this distribution happen and even if it didn't get as wide a release as we'd want, nothing could diminish what you've done and the effort you've put into this pursuit. And beyond just getting the film into theatres, this whole exercise has been a truly gorgeous testament to the amazing amount of love and appreciation that so many people have for Heath and for what he gave us in his too short time on the earth. I personally will always remember this tangible demonstration of that love and the way all these people have come together to honor him as a group. Makes me feel very proud to be a part of it. Thank you for that. :^^)

If you are from out of the USA and want to help us, you can use a gmail address as they do not indicate anyone's country. We would be most appreciative of you help.
I have an Israeli email address so I opened a gmail account and I'm pretending to be a US citizen... ;D c'mon guys, help me with this!
Such beautiful things have come of this journey to support Heath's final film and I can see his hand all over them. I wanted to share with you that right now I am helping set up a small event with an amazing young man in London who adores this film and adores Heath. This young man has many dear, blind or deaf and blind friends whom he has helped appreciate movies for years. He took them to see Dr. Parnassus when it opened in London and came to me to see if I could help him find the filming locations, which I have done. He is now going to take them to the locations and using a very special kind of sign language for those who can't see or hear, will tranlate the movie to them via touch and smell. I'm absolutely in tears over the beauty of this. My dad was blind and this holds a very special place in my heart. This is such a testament to this film, to Terry and to Heath.
I'm so proud of my city ¡ <^( Today,The Imaginarium has been released with all the honours in five of the best Barcelona's theatres; critics are very good, remarking Terry's fantasy and creativity and Heath's good job.Needless to say that as soon as I go and watch it,I'll tell you everything about public and mine reaction. &**)
That makes me happy Alicia, to know that the critics were so good - I read so many good reviews, everybody seems to love it. and I'm happy to know that you are going to see it. Tell me, do you have the English version or is it dubbed to Spanish?
If I was you I'd make sure to bring lots of tissues. And I'd also make sure to watch the English version and not the dubbed one, because it's not the same without the actors' original voices, especially Heath's incredible voice...

I told Amy Gilliam what we are trying to do for these people and she's such a little angel. She just provided me with a really good list of specific locations and what they have to do with each scene so that he can better explain each to his friends. I just think this is so beautiful.
I am sorry, but I've not been able to check out the web-site for this movie. Can anyone tell me if I still need to make a Poster to have it viewed in Virginia, USA?
Atalley, if you don't mind I moved your post to this thread - here we discuss everything about our efforts to help to movie get wider distribution. The other Parnassus thread is for news about the movie itself - reviews, articles, photos, discussions about the movie etc.
Anyway, the best thing to do now to help the movie is to contact your local theater - either phone them, write them or send them an email, and tell them that you're interested in watching the movie in their theater and would they please let you know when you can purchase advance tickets. Theater owners need to know that there is an audience for this movie.
Theresa, what a beautiful interview ¡ It's so interesting to know about everything in rapport with Heath... :t) so,so much ¡.
Fantastic interview. Many thanks for sharing it with us. ^f^
Theresa posted this message on the support forum:
December 12, 2009! A Very Important Day For The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus!
Hello everyone,
December 12, 2009 is going to be a huge day for The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus in the USA. We, the fans are going to be hitting the streets to spread the word and raise public awareness of the film. We have groups who will be hitting the streets in Los Angeles, New York City, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Maine and two separate college campuses, one being Princeton and the other being a wonderful college in Orange County California.
We will be wearing sandwich boards and handing out information about the film as well as just sharing about the film with the public like we did in London and Rome.
We need your support and need you to join us. It’s a ton of fun.
Each event will be 3 hours in length and all will take place on the same day.
I will be leading the group in Los Angeles, so all of you folks from SoCal, especially LA, if you want to have a ton of fun and help Terry and this wonderful film, contact me at doctorparnassus@rocketmail.com
Each group is tightly organized and you will be provided with the materials you need. We will work as a group. We are especially in need of folks in NYC and Los Angeles.
The Los Angeles event will take place at Hollywood and Highland and we are in hopes of being joined by members of the media.
So, let’s step out of the box and lets share the word about Doctor Parnassus. One of the things Terry said to me was it was frightening, that with all the publicity, how very many people don’t know about this movie. So let’s tell them. Theaters can’t be filled for a film if folks don’t know the film exists. I have 25 original authentic US Dr. P theater posters to use for sandwich signs, which the bearer may keep afterward for NYC and LA. The remaining original authentic posters will be split between the other events. So those that sign up first will receive the authentic posters. You will pick your posters up the day of the event. Don’t delay, the sooner you contact me, the better.
Contact me right away please. I must hear from you no later than November 29, 2009.
Thank you so much. We’re counting on you guys. It’s now our turn to give back to Terry and show him how much we appreciate the great gifts he and the cast have given us. One of the things we all love about Terry the most is that he thinks outside the box, he takes risks, he puts himself out there. Now is our time to follow his example.
If you are a Heath Ledger fan, do it in his honor to see that everyone gets to see his final performance. If you are a Depp fan, Law fan, Farrell fan or any of the rest of the cast, do it to show them in a tangible way, how very much you appreciate them.
Also if you would like to organize an event in your own town for December 12, contact me as well at doctorparnassus@rocketmail.com.
GREAT NEWS FOR LOS ANGELES PEOPLE - Come join me and REELZCHANNEL TV!!!! for the LA event. That's right REELZCHANNEL will be televising the event on dishnet, Direct TV and cable in 46 states AND their reporter is going to don a sandwich board and join the march with us!
Wow, that's great! This will be a great exposure, and I'm glad that they're going to emphasize the love for Heath that drove all this thing forward.
I have just found out that Christa and I will be on the red carpet for the support site for the Australians In Film Heath Ledger Scholarship event on December 8. I don't have all the info yet, but will let everyone know as I know.
Whoo!! It's official - I'll be in NY on the 12th to participate! &**) (^) I'm so excited and can't wait to spread the word and hook up with the rest of my team. O0
Theresa, that's great about 8th! Can't wait to hear all about it. ^f^

This is really great,Barb ¡ Thank you ¡ Not only Keren, but me...and also Heath would be very proud of you ¡ :^^)
I most certainly will, sweet keren, and I promise to report everything as soon as I can get it written after the event.
Keren I also wanted to tell you that I got an invitation from the Jerusalem Film Festival accidently contacted my site instead of the producers wanting Dr. Parnassus for their festival. I immediately forwarded their request to the correct people!
They did? Did they mention a date? I'm a little confused, because as far as I know the Jerusalem Film Festival is taking place in July, so if they're thinking about screening it in July 2010 the movie should be "old news" by then... I assume we'll get it here long before that. But thanks for letting me know, this is certainly intriguing!
Aww you guys made me cry. <^( You have it backwards though. I just feel so privileged and fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of this, and to share it with you and the team in NY. That we get to do this one last thing for Heath. There's nothing selfless about it. I'm the lucky one. It's something that I'll be able to hold in my heart forever. :ghug:
I know exactly how you feel Barb, I feel the exact way about hitting the streets in LA on the 12th as well. We're actually going to be on the walk of fame on Hollywood and Highland between the Kodak and Graumans and REELZCHANNEL TV is going to cover the event. It's going to show on cable and Dish channels in 46 states and on the web. I'm really proud of that because REELZCHANNEL came to us asking could they cover it. They are the people who did the precious Terry interview in which the little reporter, Jill Simonian, talked about the heath heart tattoos. She and I became friends on the red carpet at the AFI screening. She's not going to be covering it but she has been our champion at REELZ and one of their reporters actually has taken vacation from New York because she's such a huge Terry and Heath fan and is going to put on a sandwich board and walk with us. I'm just so humbled and honored to be part of it all and I too will remember it forever.
This is just beyond fantastic Theresa, it will bring the movie so much exposure. And I won't be surprised if it was Jill Simonian who gave them the idea to do that after meeting and talking to you at the screening, actually I bet it was her who told them about this event and got them to cover it. This is such an incredible thing, and I am so greatful to anyone who's going to attend it both in NY and in LA. It would've been my honor to join you there if I wasn't so far away... but you said the coverage is going to be on the web as well, and I know I'm going to watch it with tears in my eyes.
I think it was actually Nicola who "introduced" between Heath and Terry, wasn't it? If I remember correctly he was the one who recommended Heath to Terry for Brothers Grimm. I remember some things he said about Heath in interviews, like how sometimes when he wanted to get away from all the craziness he used to come over and play with his son for hours... just sit on the floor and play with him.
You made a really good point about the people involved with this film, Theresa. So often, it seems, once a film is finished the whole thing goes to the marketing department, the studio decides what to do in the way of publicity and the cast and crew move on to their next projects, showing up for some press tours or TV interviews as they're able and/or required by their contracts. In this case, it seems more like a labor of love and the care they've all shown to the movie as a whole (which should stand on its own merit) as well as Heath's memory is just beautiful and inspiring. Please give our sincerest thanks to them. ^f^
As to your interview, I await it with nervous anticipation. Thanks to both you and Nicola for sharing it with the rest of us. :^^)
On my way out the door to the Australians In Film Heath Ledger Scholarship screening of Dr. Parnassus here in LA. Am hoping for a big turnout for both the scholarship and our movie. We want those events to go very well since we are in the middle of awards season as well!

This is so wonderful to hear, Theresa your report brought a huge smile to my face! what you all did there is just incredible, and to get all these reactions from people, it's so heart warming. What a fabulous thing you all did, I'm so proud and happy to hear about it. You guys rock!!! :^^)
Thank you so much Keren. It was an INCREDIBLE experience. I wore a solid black t-shirt that said "Heath Ledger" in bold white letters on the front and then my sign. You could see his name right above my sign because I wanted it to be clear to everyone who saw me why I was there. It was really a joyful and emotional time all at once because the response was so incredible.
I heard from Terry Gilliam this a.m. and he sent his sincere thanks to everyone and said he loved the photos and commentary from the marches and how very much all of you and your commitment mean to him. He's just so proud of everyone and so touched. He's also loving all the original artwork about the film fans are creating. He then said, he was exhausted from all the press and was very anxious to see how the openings go in LA and NYC this week. He sends Happy Holiday wishes and tremendous thanks to everyone and then had to run as he had Christmas shopping to do.
I'm just so proud of everyone who participates in our support campaign in any way. Whether it be reading our homepage, commenting on the homepage, marching, making a picture or telling people around the internet about the movie and discussing it, it is all VITAL and you guys are champs about doing it! What a labor of love for Heath this is. What a beautiful thing to see.
Love
Theresa
I wish I could've been there, to talk to all those people and see their enthusiasm, I'm sure it was so wonderful. And I bet Terry is proud and deeply touched, he has a reason to be!! I've never heard about such support where fans dedicate so much of their time and go out to the streets to support a movie they want to see. This is unheard of, until now. I'm not a religious person, but I like to imagine Heath looking down at all this and smiling a big and happy smile.
I'm crossing my fingers for a successful opening in NYC and LA, I hope the demand will quickly bring it to many more states and cities all across the US. And once it's released there I'll contact the Israeli distributor again... since they said they were waiting for the US release first, it's time to start nagging them again about a release date for Israel. ::)
I heard from the head of the Jerusalem Film Fest again this a.m. asking that the film be sent there and I sent it to the people who would handle it, but I'm thinking the plan is for it to open well before then in Israel. I hope the distributor can give you some info on that.
Terry talks about the support site in an interview for the Gothamist!

OMG, how awesome!!! I loved what he said about the site, this is so cool! And he obviously adores you Theresa, for a good reason. :)
Thank you honey and how about YOU! He talked about your genius worldwide photo campaign! I was soooooo proud of you!
I have a surprise for you guys. The film makers have asked my permission to include our fan march videos in the Dr. Parnassus dvd in a featurette. I of course said yes! Unfortunately we don't have video from NYC, however we do have London and Los Angeles.

Theresa, that's fantastic! I'm so jealous but in the best possible way. And it sounds like the L.A. event was not only fun but greatly productive. I'm so proud of all of you. :)
And good news in my neck of the woods. I've found Parnassus playing at 7 major theaters in the Metro Detroit area. &**)
And it's playing in Traverse City up north too. Go team Gilliam! O0

Keren, honey, I'm getting the feeling that you definitely don't have to worry about the Israeli Film Festival being your release date because I heard from them again this a.m. They say the producers haven't contacted them back about putting the film into the festival. The only reason I can think of that the producers would do that is because they are pushing for a release date before the festival so the festival would not be in their plans. Fingers crossed.
.. first i didn't want to say anything but..I know, honey. It's very hard. The life of a small indie film is a hard one even when it's a really good film, because the big studio machine is constantly trying to eat them alive. Heartbreaking.
after 1 (ONE) week, in most cinemas the film was gone.. they di not keep it even in the arthouse theatres... :_(
despite the fact that most people i talked with said it was great great film... :_(
sure they expected more, they have done a lot of publicity for it here in austria..
but a week, ONE LOUSY WEEK... :_(
