What is the reaction to Jake being Matilda's Godfather?

I just saw the clip where Heath and Michelle said it! :) I didn't realise Jake was there at the time. Explains why he was happy to tell someone else about it later that night. Cos it was out in the open! ;D

thats so sweet..:) when I first saw the heading i thought of the movie godfather lol.. ;D which didn't make any sense to me lol..then i read it and the lightbuld went of hehe..thats a very nice honor for Jake..:)

He volunteered the information to a reporter on an English paper - who would clearly never have thought to ask such a question! - a few hours after Heath and Michelle let out the 'secret', when talking about his friendship with Heath. That gives the impression he's really happy and proud he IS her godfather, and wanted to tell someone! :D

HEATH LEDGER is so close to his BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN co-star JAKE GYLLENHAAL, he has asked him to be Godfather to his four-month-old daughter MATILDA.
Gyllenhaal, whose turn in the movie earned him a Best Supporting Actor BAFTA on Sunday (19FEB06), credits the movie with building a unique bond between them.
He says, "Heath and I are best friends now, making the film was very intense for us.
"I'm actually Godfather to Heath's daughter MATILDA, which is an amazing honour."

Someone on another forum reported a piece in a paper today.
Dunno if it's true but it mentions Jake being godfather to Matilda and says his first baby gift to her was a tiny T-shirt with, written on it: 'I wish I knew how to quit spitting up on you' ... Lol! :D
It's funny, anyway, whether it's true or not, and very apt for a baby that age! Maybe if it IS true Jake bought it cos she did it on HIM! :D :D :D

This is one of the nicest things I've heard on this forum. The fact that they are friends and don't give a hoot about any inuendo about them being buddies off set as well. I just think they are wondeful people. Did any of them think that this film would change other peopleslives and their lives so much, let alone create another one.
