Thanks for the link, zetahphi708. People who left comments like that were just in denial. No matter what, there will always be people like those. What is more important is that Ennis and Jack are #1 - not just from us but EW.

What horrible "comments"? What am I missing? They were almost all euphoric. Is there some link with the bad ones?

OMG, that is so cool! I'm totally glad they're No.1 ( like DUH! )....all of the comments I read are, as randwilliam said, euphoric ( I simply adore the: 'love is love.period.' one :D )....but I guess a lot of people commented since the nasty ones....and good so, 'cause I'm really not in the mood for homophobe, dumb, judgemental comments thank you very much!

Under the page, you can read the responses from others. There are many others to read.

Jack and Ennis did not love each other. Love is COMMITMENT AND SACRIFICE. They did not sacrifice anything for each other, they were just infatuated and lustful. Still a great flick though. "

Interesting point of view, I must say.

Unfortunately, there will always be ignorance represented on message boards, especially on controversial subjects. This movie is not about sexuality, it is about real, true love.  There are thousands of straight people (myself at the front of the line) who are haunted by this beautiful story.  I find it very interesting that Mr. Humer took the time to post this.  Methinks he doth protest too much??

LOL! Methinks so, too! I recently came across an article about a study in which researchers found that those very people who most loudly proclaimed their disgust for all things homosexual were the ones who became most aroused to homosexual stimuli. Protest away, my lady!  ::)

That is one way to look at it, but they loved each other....that is absolute.  How they could share the love was the problem.  Ennis couldn't put this love in a context he could deal with. Remember him seeing the dead cowboy?  I have no doubt this was total love and the our social conditions screwed it up!
