Title: Leather gloves in his pocket
Post by: cauliflower on Apr 06, 2006, 05:24 AM
I've noticed that several times we see Ennis with a pair of gloves tucked in his right hand jeans pocket. I've been wondering if there is any meaning on this. Any takes on this?

I think there is also a scene early on in BBM where Jack also is seen with gloves tucked the same way.  So I guess it can be assumed that it is a common practice when doing ranch work or something similar.

Later in life, Jack did not do any ranch work (he was either at the rodeo or was a salesman).  That is why you don't see him with gloves tucked away like this in later scenes, unlike Ennis.

It is. I see people with their gloves tucked in like that all the time.
