I was just remembering Alma saying to Ennis that they never go to the church social (and in holydays).
But I'm wondering about Jack. He probably went in vacation with Lureen and Bobby. But I can't imagine him at the beatch or skiing with his little family. :-\

Not so sure...  It seemed that Lureen was always too busy with the business ever to take any vacations.  The implication also was that she was always too busy to follow-up on Bobby's schoolwork.  Hence, I would speculate that they never were one family vacations -- but this is perhaps a bit extreme.

My family never went on vacations, so it's not really extreme. They may have done weekend camping trips or something, though. He's right up against the Red River. I imagine that it's a big camping spot. Where I live people flock to the Brazos and Gaudalupe rivers like their lives depend on it. Childress is also really near a couple of national parks where people camp a lot.
