Topic: "Paw the white from the moon" meaning?

Everyone wants to fly high enough to touch the moon.  I loved the poem/song. Right it was a great find.  I copied it and I hope that was okay.

Thanks to Austin for finding that info about the source of the phrase "paw the white out of the moon."   Does anyone know the source of "stem the rose" or must I start another topic for that?

I dont know the meaning in english but, in french, we have an usual expression, "effeuiller la marguerite", remove the leaves of the daisy, it refer to an innocent occupation of the lovers: I love him a little, much, in passion, not at all... is there something like that in english? or maybe it is more... "nasty", I wonder what could be a stem for those two young men...
