BBM is an Art film and I don't think Ang Lee would permit to have a special release including deleted scenes. This is the final and only cut.
This was my 2 cents
I have to agree, the film the way it is works perfectly, and Ang Lee is not a director who films a lot of unnecessary footage only to chop it up in editing. Even if he truncated certain scenes, the pacing works so perfectly that I can't see him messing with the original film version.
Best we can hope for might be a selection of scenes that may show a little extra at the start and end of the scene. And there are a few shots that you see in the trailers that didn't make it into the film at all (remember that shot of Jack standing shirtless on top of a log, rubbing his neck?). Maybe those can be included.
Reading the screenplay, there really doesn't appear to have been any scenes cut, just shot a little differently than they were written, or a line or two left out or changed slightly.
Would really love to have a couple of commentary tracks, though, with Ang and Heath and Jake, at the very least. Plus, they could do a great documentary on the impact the film has had over it's original release, from all the awards it's won to all the dialogue it's started around the world.
A special edition must be coming our way. I'm hoping it will be released in time for Christmas. Santa, be good to us, please!

My 5 cents worth!!
