FNIT DVD WS vs. FS details
« on: May 10, 2006, 03:25 PM »
I'm too lazy to check if this was discussed before, but someone on IMDB scrutinized the full-frame and widescreen versions of the movie and noticed that the full frame version actually had more visible details in the bottom of the screen where the WS one has it cut off.  You can apparently see more of what Jack does with Ennis' shirt or forearm while he was on all fours.  Anyone noticed that?

Here's an example of what you're missing in the WS vs FS versions. Sorry I don't have one of the scene in question...

Very good !
Legs too.  Several scenes where you see more of Jack's legs.  Sigh !
More of his hands in FNIT too !  That in itself is enough to get the full screne version.
And, I ain't fooling ! ;D

Not fair - full screen version isn't available in the UK, as far as I can see :(
He will be eternally missed, but he will never be forgotten

Christopher Nolan, accepting the Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe on Heath's behalf.

He was, as an actor and a professional and a human being, one of a kind

Charles Roven, accepting Heath's BAFTA.

This award tonight would have humbly validated Heath's quiet determination to be truly accepted by you all here — his peers within an industry he so loved.

Kim Ledger, accepting Heath's Oscar.

I'm with you.  The damn trailer makes me cry more than the movie !  WTF ?  :(

Anxious to see what you think of the FS versus WS.
Did you notice Ennis's fingers showing during the first kiss in SNIT?
More of Jack's hand cradling Ennis's head after he rolls on top of him for that
kiss.  WHew !

You and me together
Through the days and nights
I don't worry 'cause
Everything's gonna be all right
People keep talking
They can say what they like
But all I know is everything's gonna be all right..

Yes. I have both...you can see the arm business much more clearly...especially in slo-mo.

I bought and watched both.  FS was better...donated WS to the library  ;D
And yes you can see Jack hanging onto Ennis' arm, he almost puts his lips on Ennis' hand.
