The sheep that's eviscerated looks so much like Earl that they have to be analagous - he killled by homophobes, the sheep by predatory coyotes,their animal analogue, Jack by homphobes and left, like Earl and the sheep, stretched out on the grass - all flesh is grass.

Yes, there is an entire thread devoted to the arcadian symbolism of the dead sheep scene (et in arcadia ego).  Also noted in the old thread is that this is the first time the "death music" is introduced in the film.

TheBoyFromNoWhere, thank you.  But I hasten to admit that there is no one official take on that scene.  Each one of us sees this in the light of our own deep-seated experiences and emotions.  The beauty of BBM is that we may all see it in different ways, and yet share the same understanding.

thanks, tpe.  i get your point.  and i feel that i connect with BbM.  that's why i love BbM so much.  (i also has PBS as you say in another topic.  )  however, there may be some points that i really don't understand or cannot interpret by my own experiences.  so i need a guide for my understanding to get more and more beauty of BbM.  and i find that everyday.
