Alma HAD TO have told Monroe. And maybe because her dad never did remarry or really date, and that huge fight on Thanksgiving. Maybe she was told, or she just figured it out.

She was jealous of Cassie taking time away from her spending tiime with her dad. Cassie was inconsiderate to take him away from his daughter so she could dance with him. All she wanted to do was spend time with him.

Alma Jr. was always so afraid and hesitant to talk to Ennis, and I always wondered why. It was like she thought he was going to yell at her or something. I found that strange.

I would love to hear anybody's thoughts on that. Ennis was always really sweet to her and never told her what she could or couldn't do.

well i agree pretty much with everything you said there but i dont really think it was inconsiderate for cassie to take ennis to dance it had to happen if cassie let ennis spend all the time with alma jr in the bar if there relationship turned seriouse alma junior would not be able to have this so it was probably better that way.

as you said with all the stuff with thanks giving and her childhood memories of the divorce and the fact ennis never remaried i think alma jr must have know something was up. even if she didnt know about her father and jack but personally i think she probably did.

I also think that she could have very well told Monroe everything, although I have heard good arguments to suggest the contrary.  Still, I think Monroe would have guessed the truth in the long run. 

But back to the topic, Ennis must have known all along, given the way he so thoughtlessly behaved -- hardly concealing the truth behind the fishing trips with Jack.  He simply assumed that Alma would not bring it all out -- in this, he was mistaken.

i think anyone who knew ennis remotly would know it would take more then a fishing trip with a friend to get him excitited and smiling,
alma must have realised her dad was always much happier when jack was coming.
