ohh, by the way, thinking about that scene in particular, there's just another moment of total cuteness when ennis presents himself to cassie as ennis (pause) del mar. just like if he can hear jack in his mind remembering him how you have to present yourself properly ... AWWWW ... too cute for words, really.

Yes, Ennis seemed quite reluctant to be introduced, but he certainly didn't seem to be big on resistance, since he allwoed himself to go dancing, even though he knew that he didn't klnow how to dance!   ;D

I agree in that the little pause Ennis had while introducing his name was thinking about Jack and his proper way of introducing himself.Why not?if Jack was always on his mind...About the dance,well I'd rather like the way he dances on a horse... (t)

I also agree that before Cassie approached him, I think that Ennis was musing about Jack.  This could account for the many hesitations we observe on Ennis's part, to be sure.

Cutest (I don't think anyone has mentioned this one; I'm surprised): when Ennis comes into the grocery store with the girls and Monroe tells him that Alma is in the condiments aisle, and Ennis says "the wha?"  "Ketchup."  Too cute!

Sexiest: There are a couple that stick with me; one of course is the little grin when he sees Jack pull up outside the apartment building.  Another - this is kind of subtle and could be just my imagination - but I love the look of his thigh muscles when he's galloping down to the dead sheep.  They show through his jeans.  Drool.

And yeah, I concur...Droooool indeed.  Ennis sure has some lovely thigh muscles, yep.

I agree with the cutest scene. I thought it was kinda endearing. Not sure about the thighs though. I didn't notice that one.

IN the begionning of the reunion scene, you really get a sense of Ennis's immense pleasure of seeing Jack once more.  What makes him so cute in that scene is the pure joy you see in his face...

Oh yeah, I know, you have to be concentrating really hard to catch the thigh muscle detail hee hee!  Believe me, I'm looking very closely when that scene comes on.   :d)

I also love Ennis' half smile; you see it when he talks about Jack driving the sheep off with the harmonica, and also when he says he's enjoying the peace and quiet when they're out camping by the river.  I think I even catch a wink during this scene also!  Too cute.  Heath had the greatest smile.

Heath definitely conveyed the "hot jolt" part, didn't he?  I love how nervous he is while he waits for Jack, too - pacing, bouncing his knee up & down, chain-smoking, drinking - who hasn't felt that same anticipation before a special date?   <^(

I totally understand.  Those bittersweet states of mind call out for each of us to remember our own dozy embrace from the movie, whether it's actually the dozy embrace or something else.  For me, any time I see the mountains in the film, I get such a rush of feeling, like Ennis and Jack are going home - since home is where you feel safe and can be yourself.

I've been surprised that his introduction to Cassie hasn't been mentioned more often.  Cute-like he remembers how Jack taught him to be polite.  I love all of the little details in BBM...also, "the whut?" (to the word condiments to Monroe).

That feeling is amazing to wait for your special date and if it is with a person u r crazy in love with then there is nothing like it…Ennis was waiting with so much eagerness….that was so beautiful..I love watching all those scenes and I know what will happen next and that makes me kinda sad but then when I am watching these scenes I try to just focus on them…Ennis waiting for his love and finally hugging and kissing im…..it was all worth it… <^( <^(

ya this is so true and something I just wrote in the above post..I read your post after that and we say this in such a similar way :)
As I know what will follow I feel like its gona be hard ahead and I make myself strong and watch it..its still tough though..especially the last 15 minutes of the film...However, what really keeps Ennis and Jack going all those years together is the acceptacnce of the truth that they love each other and need each other...Even though it gets really hard later these memories that they have r their real treasures...

Am I correct to say that this is perhaps the one scene where we see Ennis at his happiest?  Those moments were few and far between.  The happiness was both cute and very sexy (especially the smile...)

I agree.  We see that smile pop out mostly when he is with Jack; only once do we see it with Alma.  Being with one's soulmate brings out the best in a person.  We get to see the real Ennis! 

How about the "if I had three hands I could" scene for stunningly cute?  He's just so adorable, doing everything he can to calm his daughters' crying.  I love how he interacts with the girls; you can tell Heath loves babies/children.  On Oprah he was so cute, he said he falls deeper in love with both his girls every day (Michelle/Matilda) - how can we not love him?  <^(

Sexy: When Ennis approaches Jack in the pasture after FNIT, we get to see his long legs and nice butt!!! His stance . I love the way he moves. Perfection.

The way he and Jack sit side by side on the log devouring the elk he shot for them, no talking , just grubbing. Cute.

Oh, yes, this is a wonderful sight, isn't it?  I'm a sucker for worn jeans & cowboy boots.  Speaking of long legs/nice butt, how about the bathing scene?  He's just muscular enough.  How did Jack not just turn around and gape?   :d)

How about the "if I had three hands I could" scene for stunningly cute?  He's just so adorable, doing everything he can to calm his daughters' crying.  I love how he interacts with the girls; you can tell Heath loves babies/children.  On Oprah he was so cute, he said he falls deeper in love with both his girls every day (Michelle/Matilda) - how can we not love him?  <^(

Interesting.  The scene with the children seemed to grate on my nerves, honestly.  What makes me a reluctant admirer of this scene is the sense of confusion, quiet poverty, and isolation.  I don't know if I would personally call it cure, but I certainly understand your point.  :)
