just like thanksgiving when Jack put LD in his place the look on her face was priceless like "whew bout time somebody said it" 

And Jack's face looked like it expressed a mixture of embarassment and genuine relief -- as if a load had been lifted from him...

Anyway, sexy Jack:

 , definitly lowering  himself  slowly onto Ennis in SNIT while kissing him, then hesitates, looks down at Ennis , then plants the sexiest kiss between two people in the history of film on em imo. There's also a little "motion of the ocean "in the lower body parts during this too. I know it's acting, but sometimes I wonder how they kept certain...ahem, .body parts ...under control and unaltered after so many takes to get it right.


Cute: His reaction to Ennis's lack of *opportunity* to be a sinner. That little "Hmmmmm" ...hands Ennis more whiskey and gives a little snicker...end of scene. I love it.

I think a really cute scene is when Jack ropes Ennis around the ankles and he trips and that starts their tussel/play fight before it becomes a real fight. That laugh Jack lets out is so cute it makes me smile. Sexy just has to be whenever Jack gazes at Ennis with those beautiful bedroom eyes, just makes my heart melt      sigh

I thought that (at least the beginning of) the scene leading up to the fight was also especially sexy -- also, the implication of "roping" Ennis has a lot of significance.

What I found especially cute was the start of the SNIT, when he was witing for Ennis.  You could sense some anticipation -- and fear?  -- although he looked relatively relaxed and confident...

Exactly.  He looked a bit anxious in the beginning, no?  It was as if he was not entirely sure what Ennis was going to do.  But surely, Ennis staying that late in camp (instead of going up to the sheep) was a clear enough signal to Jack...  I think that, overall, Jack may have been a bit anxious, but remained confident that Ennis would come to him.

Ok, I'm totally going off sexy path we were on...sorry But when I was watching the other day, a moment came on I thought was cute, but never gave much thought to(other than the fact the tractors called "the Versatile" )

It's the scene where Jack is on the big combine thing with Bobby steering it. I thought this was a really cute Jack scene. And going back to the name of the machine, it's so easy to view it as a sexual joke...the Versatile...but it's actually in a scene that's displaying Jack's versatility in molding into a role to fit everyone else's needs.

He's a father when with Bobby...a husband to Lureen, even if just in a matter of dealing with Bobby's school needs in the blue parka scene... and his favorite role as Ennis' man when with him.

It's such a sweet scene with him and his boy, showing their everyday lives, but it also seems to say so much more...like every moment in this film does.

I do think Jack was very cute in that scene with his son on the tractor (?)  You could tell that he did have a genuine enjoyment at being a father to his son.  Sometimes, I find it hard to reconcile this with his being able to drop all this to go with Ennis.  But love is a strange thing...

Maybe I disagree for the first time with you,Thomas.Yes,Jack was cute in that scene and he really seemed to enjoy his father's role.But I remember having talked about this subject in another thread;to leave his wife to go with Ennis doesn't mind necessarily that he had to quite his son and his commitment in his education and emotional/economical wellfare.Life is full with people who split and it doesn't mean that they do the same with their children; couple's love can finish,but father/mother's love can't.IMO,and sorry for being .

For some reason, I think that the post-divorce meeting has a number of cute moments, even though it is essentially tragic.  The Jack-lick in that scene is certainly VERY cute.  And his child-like anticipation before Ennis gives him the bad news is also so cute...
