well, from what i red in the book once ennis called jack about the divorce and the there was the first card from jack looking for ennis. also the final returned post card and the final phone call to lureen. i assume they kept in touch with cards. probably writing to each other before the met. i don't think jack and ennis wrote letters to each other. everything was done through post cards i think. interesting thought...if you note if everything was done through post cards, they communicated in the open, anyone could read it. strange isn't it. they kept their relationship quiet but their communication was open.
