"Brokeback Mountain" falls from 8th to 13th in its third week showing just in 215 theatres ( 148 added this week). Well, I think this past weekend was holiday so parents went to see the movies mostly with thier kids. They would have seen something fun and entertaining rather than an emtional movie with a deep love story like "Brokeback Mountain".  However, the cumulative gross of "Brokeback" climbed up to almost 7 million, and that's a great sign.

Thanks for posting this, adisonvunguyen. The link shows BBM is #13 on the chart. Did I misread? 215 theatres is still small number. Note that the average for BBM is $8801 - one of the tops. For a movie with budget of $14 M. It is quite remarkable. Also, this movie is going to be strong in foreign markets.

anyway, was the movie made only in 10 millions ?..Well, that's amazingly shocking. How much Jake and Heath Legfer got paid then ? They are well known actors though.

The movie was actually made in $14 million. It is a relatively low budget film. Well..Given Jake and Heath's market rates at the time BBM was made, they were not paid a lot I would assume. Now after making this movie, they can ask a lot more.

Ohh, yeah, they should. The cumulative gross would soon go higher than that $ 14 millions project, hopefully next week.

 I just read the newest estimated gross cumulative of Brokeback on the same site listed above, and it says that as of today its gross cumulative is $ $7,888,312 with the average gross of $13,599 in $ 218 theatres ( 3 more added this week). As noticed, Brokeback's average gross is the top...I'm so happy to have found this new. Hope it would keep doing well in the Box Office this week, which is very possible because it's still hoiliday and guys like my age are still in a break from colleges.

I'm sure it will pick up some more as the holidays are over; more awards roll in and it opens in more theatres.  It finally took over a million $ in one day which is a good milestone.  Hopefully it will go up past 2 million at some points.

It opens in 1 cinema in the UK this Friday 30th.
