What about Ennis and Jack´s jobs?
« on: Feb 19, 2006, 10:40 PM »
I have seen for second time. I realized new points then. In the first time I saw, I had not understood that they had not to be together in the tend.  The contract with Aguirre was that while one took care the lambs, the other prepared food, but there must be somebody with the cattle, day and night.

But since those night that they get drunk, Ennis instead to go with the sheep, they slept together. The following day, appeared a lamb dead.

The problem with the job increased, until the storm, when the cattle mix which other.

Jack pushed to Ennis to break the agreement, but Ennis became angry because he lost a month of payment, when Aguirre dismissed them one month before.

It also anguished me, since real life happens often. I allways was extremely  careful to avoid that my private life mixed with bussines. If I were Ennis, I would not get drunk, since i was working.

However, they enjoyed this moment and never never in those life forgot them. I can not say the same. After seen the movie, I wish I drunk and to have something like jack and Ennis.

I envy them.

In the short story it states Sheep be damned, they stemed the roses intead

The problem with the job increased, until the storm, when the cattle mix which other.

Ennis seemd pissed off, however you can view this in a very different eye, as it looks even if he is upset at loosing a months pay, he looks also troubled that their journey has come to an abrut end, you can truly in minute ways see it when Ennis is alone and sadden at the top of the hill and Jack says time to go cowboy. it looked very much that there was more than meets the eye in and from the time they have to bring the sheep down to the playfight where Jack's accidently elbowed Ennis on the nose.

It also anguished me, since real life happens often. I allways was extremely  careful to avoid that my private life mixed with bussines. If I were Ennis, I would not get drunk, since i was working.
NOTE: Jack and Ennis when to do what all young wannabe cowboys do while waiting to go up to mend the sheep, they when to the first watering hole and drank, then Ennis slept in the truck with Jack, the next mornin Ennis had a splitting headache, but Jack was all well and dandy. still stranger not knwoing what was to come, maybe Jack knew more than he let know or shown
drinking was part of the routine in rural setting, wouldn't you agree.

However, they enjoyed this moment and never never in those life forgot them. I can not say the same. After seen the movie, I wish I drunk and to have something like jack and Ennis.

We all have in some hidden fashion a story closely guarded as Ennis and Jack, and if not the case for You, then my wish is that in your lifetime you can have the privilege to know and feel as much as they did and a thousand times fold, with all my heart everyone deserved all this love one can muster. best of luck

I envy them.
