A quote from Oscar Watch

"As I watch it back Crash winning Best Picture at the Oscars, I see Jack Nicholson opening the envelope, we see Nicholson sighing (either before or after he sees Crash is the winner, I can't tell), he takes a moment before he says it, then afterwards, his eyebrows go up, his index fingers up too (watch for what I mean), then he goes to the side, and even though we don't hear it, he says, "Whoa" (Of course I said No instead) I watch back as best as I can, Jake is looking to the side clapping and it looks like Heath is clapping but looking straight forward, he looks bad."

In my opinion, this result just reminds me the core idea of BBM:

If you can't fix it, you gotta stand it

I will not add a single word to what I said yesterday.
"The message from the Academy is very clear".

Just think about how many people are now partying at BBM loosing big time.
"I loved it. Shocking. Surprising. The guy who financed my movie did that too. He's a very mild mannered chap from Minnesota and we'd just screened the latest cut of my film and he asked if I wanted to see it. I was thinking, 'OK, this really square, straight guy,' and he showed me this movie. It's amazing.

"They're really good those boys and they did a great job. It's very brave of them."

Thanks to many of you who joined the live thread yesterday. Although results did not meet or exceed our expectation, the outcomes are in no way affecting our love for BBM. BBM is a moive of love and hope - for that I would like ask our members to devote our energy to look ahead. The Oscar needs BBM more than BBM needs the Oscar. Not winning the best picture is not the end but a beginning. Oscar is over but BBM journey continues and it will continue for many years to come.

The live thread is now closed.

Please direct your thought and reaction to this thread

Also, I have created a new board for our response to the Oscar and BBM.
