Lack of Advertising

Is it just me, am I imagining it that I have not seen any publicity for the upcoming DVD release?  I recall several films recently where the pre-release advertising was seemingly relentless.  I watch a lot of TV and have not seen ANY ads for the DVD coming out next week.  I'll be interested to see if it is advertised in the Sunday paper flyers.

I think maybe it is done purposefully. Since the movie is still in the theaters, an aggressive marketing may not be a good idea.

There has been some media coverage about DVD release and most BBM fans know when it will be available. Just looking at the number of pre-order, I think it is doing fine.

When the DVD hits the shelf, the words will get out faster than you think.  :D

I saw one BBM DVD ad in the latest Advocate issue.

I had been thinking the same thing--it's coming out in 4 days!  what's going on??--but then yesterday I finally saw 2 TV ads for the DVD.  I hate to think it, but is the mainstream media unwilling/afraid somehow to promote this movie??  I noticed, too, that the ad very carefully said, "Nominated for 8 academy awards, including best picture"--without noting which awards it actually won (and couldn't it have said "won best picture--Golden Globes, Golden Lion, etc., etc."--granted, this was a US TV station).

May be just where you are.  I watched a program the other night and saw the DVD ad 4 times in an hour.

Okay, I stand corrected.  Just got home from work, I'm watching TV and finally saw the first commercial for the DVD.  So okay, I'll stop whining now.

On another note, there was a blurb in the paper that the  Bahamas banned BBM.  Weird.
