i'm sure we all know that this movie did phenomenal with or without advertising. i personally wouldn't want advertisements that would screw up the whole purpose of the movie. see my friend told me that the commercial for brokeback mountain was just basically all jack/lureen and ennis/alma with their kids. it was clearly giving no message whatsoever about what ennis and jack had to go through just to be together. i don't know about other bbm fans here, but i would rather have an advertisement that was true to the story instead of trying to hide it and promote it just because it won pretty awards..

..of course, that's just me heh

Those who know what the movie about will watch it no problem.  It is those who wouldn't go the first time I want to buy it.  I really can't see anyone not hearing about BBM.  So, rather than put an ad on the television that has restrictions, it is best to put a PG ad on.  I just hope a lot of people who haven't/wouldn't see it will now purchase the DVD, or even rent it.

Tell you what...truth is, sometimes I miss you so much I can hardly stand it...
