DVD Description

The Oscar-winning, groundbreaking, incredibly powerful story of two cowboys in love is finally available to own on DVD. Special offer: place your advance order today and get a limited edition Brokeback bandana!

From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ang Lee comes an epic American love story, based on the short story by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annie Proulx and adapted for the screen by the team of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana.

Set against the sweeping vistas of Texas and Wyoming, this cinematic masterpiece tells the story of two young men: soft-spoken ranch-hand Ennis (Heath Ledger) and rodeo cowboy Jack (Jake Gyllenhaal) who meet in the summer of 1963 and unexpectedly forge a lifelong connection. This beautifully crafted film follows their story: the complications, joys and tragedies. In the end, Brokeback is an umistakable testament to the endurance and power of love.

This gorgeous wide-screen letterboxed edition is packed with extras including: "On Being a Cowboy: Directing from the Heart: Ang Lee," "From Script to Screen: Interviews with Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana," and "Sharing the Story: The Making of Brokeback Mountain."

Winner of 3 Academy Awards and 4 Golden Globes!

The DVD is also available at Barnes & Noble for $23.98.

Not sure if there is full screen version. The one I order is wide screen. Perhaps others could give you some ideas. Sorry.

Seriously folks, you are all welcome to come watch it on the "big" screen at my house in Seattle.  We all share a special bond, a special life experience that the movie has brought out in all of us that is unique only to us and not shared by those who did not "get it."  It has truly changed my outlook in life forever, chipped down at the wall that had been built up as a defense my whole life.

Hey, Jey-ee. I am not sure. I hear what you are saying. Some special bonuses would be nice but I will be just happy to see the DVD. Maybe it is because I have seen too many video clips - music video, interviews and of course all the discussions in this forum.

Why would you want full screen?

Because I still like to watch the DVDs in Full Screen format, besides you can see the whole picture and not just part of it...  I like it but also I would like a 'Full Screen' version!

No! You only see part of the picture with full screen. http://www.tigerdave.com/ws_vs_full.htm I understand using full screen if you have a tiny tv, because the picture will be bigger, but if your tv's not tiny, wouldn't you rather see the whole thing?

Ok, I give up...  You're right, wide-screen is the best!  I knew it but it's just that I don't have a new tv right now and specially with those features.  Anyway, thanks for your info!

You don't need any special features on your tv to watch widescreen. You just need a tv that you can hook a dvd player up to.
