Hello dear members..

Well once again, we are left behind (Europeans...and I'm sure others)

I had to wait to see the movie and now I have to wait to see the DVD...

So instead of screaming my frustration on the other threads already talking about the DVD, I thought of creating a new thread, were we could all cry together and bite our nails and do whatever we do until we finally get our hands on the DVD!

I know that this thread will only last a few weeks, but come and join me...let's cry together!

This DVD release is one b**ch of an unsatisfactory situation!

The reason the UK version is taking longer is because of all the extras they've added. All the deleted nude scenes, plus the too-hot-to-handle love scenes which ended up on the cutting room floor.

Well, okay, I lied a bit. Just trying to make you feel better...  :-*

I preordered mine from a UK site even though I'm in Seattle ;)  Just wanted one in the PAL format.

Well I guess it's for the best... coz I just had a eyes-operation a coupla days ago so my eyesight is kinda blurry... I'm doing great efforts to read the posts here so I probably couldn't watch the movie now anyway... and if I had it right here and couldn't watch it I'd go crazy, so I guess it's for the best I don't have it yet...

Just trying to comfort myself here...

I feel so bad for those who have to wait for the DVD. If I could make the DVD region free, I would. Multi-region DVD player is the solution.

Because of the different theater release dates in different regions of the world.  When a DVD is released in the US, the movie may not have been released in the theaters overseas yet...  so it's the studios' way of preventing movies from being seen at home before theater release.  The TV system is a different matter - Europe uses PAL and Canada/US/Japan uses NTSC.

Yes, America uses NTSC format which correspond to the number of lines on a colour TV screen to make a picture.
Most of the rest of the World uses PAL, a different format and known to offer a better picture defiinition.

TV Systems (interlaced horizontal lines/times per second):  NTSC - 525/60; or PAL/SECAM 625/50...  Pixel encoding on DVD's - 720x480 (NTSC) vs. 720x576 (PAL)  So PAL has higher horizontal scans translating to slightly better resolution.

I am so thrilled to announce that BBM DVD will be released by the end of April in Hong Kong!!!!!!!!!!  ;D ;D ;D
(Jarhead was released 2 weeks ago)

I have only watched once in the theatre (I dared not go to the theatre again coz that time my eyes were all swollen when I went out of the cinema, and had to rush to washroom to cry again...) I missed it soooooooooooooooooooooo much and after that I could only go to Youtube to watch the video clips.

I will embrace my DVD (and a family pack of tissues for sure) soon~ I hope there are bonus track in HK version.

I really thought they would send it out before the release date, so that I actually got it on the 24th, but that's looking less and less likely since my order status still says expected delivery 27th-29th ::) I knew I should have gone with play.com, but amazon was cheaper and I ordered another movie at the same time from their sale (A River Runs Through It)

Ach well, I guess it'll just mean a couple more days anticipation and a few more viewings of the youtube clips....

thanx for making this thread hun!

the thing is, brokeback is still ( kinda ) playing in theaters over here ( if you can call one show a day in only one theater after 11 p.m. 'still playing in theaters' that is ). it's been playing since feb the second.

so I have NO idea when the dvd release is gonna be. :'( :'( :'(

I mean sure I got the movie on divx....but that's just NOT THE SAME!!!!!!!

Now I'm just about to have a nervous breakdown!!!
I miss the boys terribly. All the posts here just make it worse but I can't help it, I can't stay away from here... Bram made me a tape of his DVD and sent it by airmail, it should arrive any day now. I had a problem in my VCR but I had it repaired and I'm all set and ready to welcome Jack and Ennis into my home... so where are they???? why is the mail so slow???? this is a godamn bitch of an unsatisfactory situation... I think I'm gona dieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee  :'( :'( :'(
