Why are they setting up a tent? Did they move from where they were staying? I was just curious about that.

They're both at a high altitude and a high latitude (pretty far north), where summers are short but the summer days very long; there might have been some daylight till 10:00 p.m. or so. If you're pasturing animals on a mountain in that environment, you'd have them on the lower slopes in the early summer. Then some weeks later, when the animals have eaten down the grass and more vegetation has grown on the upper slopes, you'd move them further up.  The meadow areas they show right after the first night scene, that was pretty close to the top of the treeline.
