Saving/Exporting your PMs
« on: Aug 31, 2008, 09:22 PM »
The forum now has a feature for members to save/export individual or all personal messages into an HTML file to your computer. We ask you to clean your inbox and save your personal messages to your computer frequently. It will help the forum significantly. Thanks!

In your message window, you will see an additional icon to save each message individually.

You can also save all PMs at once by click the link on the left box. All your PMs will be displayed in a browser. On the browser, go to "File" and save the page. You can rename the file and save it to your selected location.

Internet Explorer - choose "save page" and select "web page, HTML only" as the file type. IE will save the PM in one web document.
Firefox - go to "File", select "save page as" and select "web page, HTML only" as the file type. FF will save PMs in one web document and create a folder containing all images from the PMs. It is the same name as the file you save.

"Save all PMs"

Please note: Saving all PMs may not work properly if the inbox has too many PMs (more than 70 pages of PMs). If you don't see all your PMs appearing on one page in the browser, please consider first reduce the size of your inbox by either deleting some. You can save PMs individually first, then delete them.

Step by step instruction to save your PMs in Windows Vista and FireFox.

Step 1 - in your PM inbox or outbox, click "Save all PMs"

Step 2 - the browser will open a web page showing all your PMs. Depending on the number of PM, it may take a while. If no web page is displayed, make sure that your PMs don't exceed 70 pages..

Step 3 - on your browser, select "save the file as"

Step 4 - select the folder where you want to save your file and select save the file as HTML documents.

Step 5 - open the file you just save and it should display all the PMs.

Prune old PMs - with this function, you can also delete older messages by specifying days.

Step 1 - in your inbox or outbox PMs, click "Prune message"

Step 2 - specify the days which the PMs are older to delete. Then click "delete."

Step 3 - a small window will pop up and click "OK"
