I've been 'thinking' a lot about the 'I wish I knew how to quit you quote' lately......

I dunno, but this line has to be like, one of the strongest lines ( next to 'Jack, I swear' of course

) in the whole movie/story. It expresses so much using so few words.....
it just came to mind during a period when I was thinking about...a guy ( ah, what can I say, I'm a hopeless romantic ) who I was in love with...and despite the fact that he doesn't love me back and sees me only as a friend, I do love him purely and sincerely ( and want him to be happy ) and have the feeling that I'll never be able to 'quit him'. no matter how many times he tries to push me away or doesn't want to open up to me...I think he'll always be that person I will never WANT to quit.
so I believe that Jack didn't wish to know how to quit ennis....he didn't WANT to know how....because loving him felt so good, despite all the bad. Loving ennis was the only bright spot in his life, and despite all the heartache that love provided him, he never wanted to quit him....and even after 'trying' and....being with randall ( :\'( ) he never really quited ennis....never. because ennis was like a drug- he kept him 'high' and brough him low....but the 'highs' were the most memorable and treasured moments of his life.
