Ennis angrily :
Texas? Sure, and maybe you can convince Alma to let you and Lureen adopt the girls. Then we could just live together, herdin' sheep. And it'll rain money from LD Newsome and whiskey'll flow in the streams. Jack, that's real smart.

Jack, picking up his cup from the side of the stream, spits, "You go to hell, Ennis Del Mar!" and strides angrily back up toward the tent, as Ennis continues to taunt him.  Throwing his hands into the air, he growls, "I was just thinkin' out loud!"

New scene, the CHildress Dance Hall

LaShawn:  Pledged Tri Delt a SMU and I sure never tought I'd end up in a pokey little place like Childress, but then I met Randall at an Aggie game, and he was an animal husbandry major, and we have been here a month, he got the foreman job over at Roy Taylor's ranch.  Like it or ont, here I am!

LaShawn:  Well, even though we ain't sorority sisters, we may have to dance with ourselves, Lureen.  Our husbands ain't the least bit interested in dancin', they don't seem to have a smidgin or rythm betwen 'em. Blah,blah,blah..

It's funny, ain't it?
Husbands don't never seem to dance with their wives.

Why do you think that is, Jack?

LaShawn, delighted, says, "Yes!  Thank you!" while looking to see if Randall is ok with it.

"Do you mind?" Jack asks Randall, as Randall smiles and shakes his head no and looks as if it were the last thing in the world that would bother him.

"Alright," Jack murmurs, as Randall's eyes lock onto Jack's for a long instant.

Next scene:  Outside the dance hall, Randall and Jack are sitting awkwardly, a little too closely, on the bench near the front door, waiting for their wives to come out of the restroom. People are leaving for the night.  Jack is smoking yet another cigarette, looking around, trying to break the uncomfortable silence. He finally thinks of something, embarrassed at how lame it is, but desperate to just say anything.

"Y'ever notice how a woman'll powder 'er nose b'fore she goes to a party?  Then, she'll powder it again once the party's over?  I mean, why powder yer nose jus' ta go home an' go ta bed?"

Randall (smiles): Don't know. Even if I wanted to know, couldn't get a word in with Lashawn long enough to ask. Woman talks a blue streak.

"Oh, yeah, Roy, he's a good ol' boy," Randall agrees, then the two of them settle into an uneasy quiet.  "Uh, he's got a little cabin down on Lake Kemp," Randall says, too casually, "Little crappie house, little boat...said I could use it whenever I want..."

They sit there, awkwardly, until Jack looks up and nods his head in understanding.

"We oughta go down there some weekend," Randall continues, "Drink a little whiskey, fish some...get away...ya know?"

Despite what Thomas posted, we already have many threads with pictures from many scenes of the movie.  Posting pictures slower the loading of the pages.  Maybe we should keep this thread here picture free in order to help members who don't have high speed connexions?

My two cents. ;)
