You know, that foreman, he owes me one.  I worked through that blizzard last winter, you remember that?  Besides, I'm only gonna be gone for a few days...

That foreman, he owes me.
[they were] both high school dropout country boys with no prospects, brought up to hard work and privation, both rough-mannered, rough-spoken, inured to the stoic life.

Bring me a big fish, Daddy, a big fish.
There was some open space between what he knew and what he tried to believe, but nothing could be done about it, and if you can't fix it you've got to stand it.

Ennis, riding against the wind back to the sheep in the treacherous, drunken darken light, thought he'd never had such a good time, felt he could paw the white out of the moon.

Last one in.
"Come on Ennis, you just shot my plane out a the sky!-give me somethin a go on.  This ain't no little thing that's happenin here"---Jack Twist

Ennis, weather-eyed, looked west for the heated cumulus that might come up on such a day but the boneless blue was so deep, said Jack, that he might drown looking up.

His shaking hand grazed Ennis's hand, electrical current snapped between them.

The bottom line is, we're around each other, and this thing grabs hold of us again in the wrong place, at the wrong time, we're dead.

There was these two old guys ranched together down home, Earl and Rich. They was a joke in town, even though they was pretty tough old birds. They found Earl dead in a irrigation ditch. They'd took a tire iron to him, spurred him up, drug him around by his dick till it pulled off........ :X :\'(
