Ennis looks at the two old shirts, one inside the other, hanging on the inside of the closet door and the picture postcard of Brokeback Mountain tacked next to them.

With tears in his eyes, Ennis says, "Jack, I swear..."

Forest service got designated campsites on the allotments. Them camps can be 3, 4 miles from where we pasture the whoollies. Bad predator loss if there's nobody lookin' after 'em at night.

Now what I want is a camp tender in the main camp whee the Forest Service says, but the herder pitch a pup tent on the QT with the sheep, and he's goin' to sleep there.

Eat your supper, breakfast in camp, but you sleep with the sheep, hundred percent, no fire, don't leave no sign. You roll up that tent every mornin' case Forest Service snoops around.
