The thousand sheep, the dogs, the horses, Jack and Ennis and the pack mules slowly flow out above the tree line, into the vast flowering meadow of the mountainside.

Jack carries a sheep over water as the sheep are moved uphill.

The boys whistle and talk to the dogs as they move the sheep.

Night:

The campfire flickers of Jacks face. Jack knows Ennis wouldn't lag . . . is clearly worried. Takes a swig out of the whiskey bottle.

Hears a twig snap, looks up . . .
