Alma, Jr., opens the door of the truck and gets out.  She looks sad and says:  No, it's alright.

Ennis:  See you next Sunday then

Junior:  Bye

Ennis:  Bye sweetheart.

Junior goes into the house.  Ennis drives away

Jack:  It's gonna snow tonight for sure. looks at Ennis
All this time, and you ain't found nobody else to marry?

Ennis:  I been putting the blocks to a good looking little gal over in Riverton.  Waitress.  Wants to go to nursing school.
Ennis shrugs and mumbles:  I don't know...   What about you and Lureen?

Jack: Lureen's good at making hard deals in the machinery business, but as far as our marriage is concerned, we could do it over the phone.
I kinda got a thing goin' with a ranch foreman's wife over in Childress.  Expect to get shot by Lureen or the husband one, ever' time I slip off to see her... chuckles

Ennis gives Jack a sad little smile and looks at the fire.

New scene:  Later that night in the tent.  Jack is asleep on his right side.  Ennis is spooned up behind Jack with his left arm around Jack.

New scene:  The next morning.  Jack and Ennis are loading their trucks, preparing to leave.  Jack and Ennis are standing near Jack's truck.

Jack:  Guess I'll head on up to Lighting Flat...see the folks for a day or two?

JACK: And why's it we're always in the friggin' cold weather? We oughta go south, where it's warm. We oughta go to Mexico.

Jack walks away from his truck and stands with his back to Ennis.

Ennis:  Mexico?  Hell, you know me, Jack...'bout all the travelling I ever done is going around the coffeepot, looking for the handle.

Ennis continues:  Lighten up on me, Jack.  We can hunt in November, kill us a nice elk.  Try if I can get Don Wroe's cabin again...we had a nice time that year, didn't we?

Ennis shrugs his shoulders and says:

-Jack,I got to work, huh?.I mean,in them earlier days,I'd just quit the job.I mean,you...You forget what it's like being broke all the time.
Ennis’s eyes gone bright with shock, mouth opening then closing again. “Love?” Ennis said finally, voice strangling in his throat.

Jack smiled sad. “Yeah, Ennis. Love.” Leaned forward and kissed Ennis’s temple, whispered, “What’d you think it was, all this time?”

Ennis: (continues)Let me tell you, I can't quit this one. And I can't get the time off.
Was tough enough gettin' this time. The trade off was August.

Ennis:(frustrated that Jack ain't buying it)     You got a better idea?

JACK: (bitter, accusatory) I did, once....

Jack is angry and now facing Ennis.

Ennis:  (quietly) You did once.

Ennis begins to walk SLOWLY toward Jack.  He looks Jack in the eye while speaking slowly and carefully:  You been to Mexico, Jack?  Cause I heard what they got in Mexico for boys like you.

But you didn't want it Ennis! So so all we've got now is  Brokeback Mountain!
Everything's built on that! That's all we got, boy, fu**in' all. So I hope you know that, even if you don't never know the rest!

JACK: (still shouting at Ennis)

You count the damn few times that we've been together in nearly twenty years, and you measure the short f**kin' leash you keep me on, an' then you ask me 'bout Mexico an' you tell me you kill me for needin' something that I don't hardly never get.

Flashback Brokeback Mountain 1963
The dozy embrace scene:
Ennis hugs Jack from behind and says:
And now you're sleepin' on your feet like a horse..
My mama used to sing that to me when I was little . . .   hums....
