Alma, still in her nightgown goes over to the window, looks out, sees Jack, casually leaning against the truck, smokin' a cigarette like he's feelin' pretty good. Alma's who's apparently been up most of the night, looks frazzled. She seemingly wants to get a better look at and to scope out this Jack fellow . . .
ALMA: Ya' know your friend could come inside and have a cup a coffee.
Ennis is trying as quickly as possible to pull together some camping gear and get out,
wants little interaction with Alma right now.
ENNIS: Aw, he's from Texas.
ALMA: Texans don't drink coffee? (Ennis continues to pack up, grabs his fishin' gear)
You sure that foreman won't fire you for takin' off?
ENNIS: Ya' know that foreman, - he owes me. I, I worked through a blizzard last Christmas, ya' remember that?
'Sides, I'll only be a couple days.
