Jack seems lost in thought for a brief second.  How can I convince him that we need to cuddle? 

"Better off sleeping in the tent," he persuades.

With a wave of his hand, he gives up.  If any cuddling is going to take place with this stoic campmate, he will have to get good and cold first.  I'll take my chances and hope for a drop in temperature. 

Jack enters the tent.... alone...

A few hours pass, the fire indeed does dies down and Ennis is freezin'. His shivering, snorting, an' groanin' finally wakes Jack in the tent. Realizing he can't go back to sleep with all of Ennis's racket, Jack opens the tent flap and yells:

JACK: ENNIS!

ENNIS: Wha?

JACK: Quit your hammerin' an' get in here!

Ennis, in no mood to argue now, gets up with his blanket, and in the dark makes his way to the tent knockin' over pots and pans on the way and even causing an' owl to hoot at him. With some rustling around of the bedroll the boys make themselves comfortable in the tent. Try to get back to sleep. More time passes and Jack wakens, stirs a little . . . realizes it's gotten so cold that sumthin' froze up hard as rock . . .

Jack reaches Ennis' hand and places it on his crotch. Ennis,who is half slept,when he realises where his hand is jumps immediately...Both are one before the other,looking each other at their eyes.Jack grabs Ennis hand again-even if this one was rather willing to repeat...-and we can imagine where this hand is...Then,he takes his jacket off.

-Ennis (at last talks,with a half slept and half drunk voice,something similar to): -What are you doin'?   $)

There is a flurry of scrambling activity!  Ennis tries to push Jack away.  A fight is going to break out!  They scuffle, grabbing each other's heads and holding on for dear life.  Ears are squished and mashed.  They shift so fingers can knead the hot sweaty backs of their necks.  Jack breathes into Ennis's face.   

Ennis thinks:  It's not so cold in here anymore.

Jack thinks:  I wonder what's going to happen next.  I sure hope Ennis knows a lot about animal husbandry.

They climax, and Ennis collapses on Jack.

New scene.  the morning after.  Ennis awakens in the morning light.  It is relatively late.  He clearly has a slight headache.  For a moment, he glances at Jack and is unsure.  But he notices that his pants are down and realizes that it wasn't a dream after all.  He pulls up his pants, buckles his belt, and goes out...

He cocks the rifle. 

As Jack emerges from the tent (looking kinda mussed and sexy with his shirt untucked  <^(), he puts his hat on. 

The rifle continuously impedes our view of Jack, until Ennis mounts Cigar Butt.

Jack says, "See you for supper."  Not really a question, not really a statement, not really a declaration of undying eternal love.

Ennis mounts Cigarbutt, gives Jack a quick confused glance, turns and prompts the horse to gallop off back to the sheep

ENNIS: He-ah, cum on.

Jack watches a conflicted Ennis ride off, not for the first nor last time.

Back on the mountain Ennis begins his survey of the sheep, hears one of the blue-heelers whine, gallops over to find the half eaten carcass of a sheep that the coyotes got to in the night while he was f**king Jack. The look of deep misgivings and confusion show on his face.

Meanwhile Jack, the dutiful camptender, is washing clothes while sunbathing :d) - maybe he's hoping that Ennis would unexpectedly ride back to camp in the middle of the day.

The scene changes to later in the day, we see Jack stretched out up on the mountain lookin' at the sheep. Ennis comes up beside him with his rifle. Ennis watchin' the sheep, Jack watchin' Ennis.

Confused,Ennis sits near Jack,but without hardly daring to look at him.Jack looks worried and takes some glances to his friend.

-Ennis:-This is a one-shot thing we got going on here.

-Jack : -It's nobody's business but ours.

-Ennis:-You know I ain't queer

-Jack : -Me neither.

The scen ends with a view of both boys from behind,looking at the horizon and lost in their thoughts...

New scene:  It's dark, Ennis sits alone in front of the fire, Jack is inside the tent.  We see Jack is getting ready for bed.

Ennis looks over at the tent, makes a decision, gets up, and goes over to the tent.

Jack is on the bedroll,thinking last events over.He looks surprised when Ennis enters into the tent.He gets up and looks directly at Ennis,who appears shy and fearful,without daring to giving his glance back.Jack takes Ennis hat off and caresses his face,while giving him a sexy and warm glance,full with love.He approaches to him to kiss him;at the first moment,Ennis is not willing to it and separates a little from his friend.But at the end,they exchange their first kiss. <^(

New scene.  We see Ennis and jack from a distance.  They are in the process of dressing or undressing (both of them are shirtless).  They chase each other around and wrestle.  Ennis manages to pin jack down and with a hat covering their faces, they kiss.

We are jolted by the realization that we are seeing things through Aguirre's binoculars...

New scene, Jack's splitting wood, Aguirre on horseback saunters up to him, pulls to a halt.

AGUIRRE: Twist.  Your Uncle Harold's in the hospital with pneumonia. Docs don't 'spect he'll make it. Your ma sent me to tell ya' - so here I am.

JACK: (shakin' his head) Bad news. There ain't nuthin' I can do about it up here I guess.

AGUIRRE: Nah, there's not much you can do about down there neither. (Aguirre lifts his glasses and takes a look at Ennis far up on the mountain tending to the sheep) Unless you can cure pneumonia. (gives Jack a stare)

Jack sees him spyin' at Ennis way up there and seems to have some thoughts an' concerns.

("does that dirty old Aguirre have eyes for my man Ennis?" >:( )

Aguirre gives Jack a look of contempt, turns and slowly rides off.

Jack and Ennis run to protect them inside the tent,because they're falling a hail like stones...

-Jack : -God damn. Jesus!

-Ennis : -Them sheep will drift if I don't get back up there tonight.

-Jack : -You'll get pitched off your mount in a storm like this. You'll wish you hadn't tried it! It's too cold, close it up!

And they surely find a good way to spend their time there... :*(

Later - new scene - (apparently Ennis was not pitched off the mount he found that night  ^-^) morning on the mountain, sheep are milling everywhere, two Chilean sheepherders are "discussing" what do about their sheep that have intermingled with Aguirre's. In an uncharacteristic moment, Ennis looks befuddled and asks Jack for advice:

ENNIS: Well, whut a we supposed to do now, huh?

-Jack:-Get on in there and untangle them Chilean sheep out of ours, I guess.

So,we see them looking for their sheep; Ennis is on the horse keeping them united while Jack is carrying one.

-Jack:-Oh, where is it? Shit! God, half the goddamn paint brands have wore off!

-Ennis :- We gotta try. The least we can do is get the count right for Aguirre.

-Jack:-f*** Aguirre!

-Ennis : -Oh, yeah, f*** Aguirre. What if we need to work for him again? You think of that? We gotta stick this out, Jack!

Apparently, the boys made quick work of sheep sorting, because now the sun hides behind a cloud and the day has worn on. 

Jack rides his grullo with his left hand on the reins, the right hand on his harmonica, playing a friendly tune. 

Ennis thinks:  Multi-tasking- Jack does it right!

Next scene:We see Ennis who is awakening in the tent up on the mountain.He is surrounded by snow and he's really frozing himself.He goes out from the tent,jumping covered with the blanket to avoid the great cold.

After that,we see him again going down to the campfire; the snow has fairly melted already.Jack is dismounting the campfire.

-Ennis:-What are you doing?

-Jack : -Aguirre came by again. Says my uncle didn't die after all. Says bring them down.

Jack finishes packing the tent and supplies.  He saddles up his horse then looks around for Ennis.
Ennis is sitting alone up at the top of the hill.  Jack takes his rope and walks up the hill towards Ennis.

Jack:  Time to get going, Cowboy.
