Ang Lee is now up to 3.4 out of 5.  We are doing some good here but we need more help voting.  Here is a new link to Ang.  Click on Ang Lee, and vote.  ( I then click on "back" in my browser and vote again, and again, and again, and...)   ;)

Voted another 5 times. I don't really know if clicking back and voting again counts. I use "refresh"

The highest one is now 4.5 - Dane Cook. Please keep voting. Thanks

I voted again now and it said that Ang had 3.42, but on that list of "top rated" at the bottom he was rated at number 5 with 3.99! what does that mean??!

Voted another 35 times.  Ang is still at 3.41 out of 5.  The top rated are:

# Highest Rated
# 1. Rain (4.46)
# 2. Dane Cook (4.05)
# 3. Rob Pardo (4.03)
# 4. Howard Stern (3.95)
# 5. Paul Simon (3.95)

Who is Rain?

Some browsers have a "Back" button which takes you back one page. "Refresh" only loads the page again and I am not sure if you hit Refresh if the second vote counts or not. I always hit back and vote again. I have assumed it works because while voting I noticed the number jump up .01 once.

        The article about Dane Cook sounds OK but I saw him host Saturday Night Live recently and he was terrible, not funny at all.  He seemed mean. That's just my opinion.                                                                                                                                                                                               Go Ang!!

I just voted over 20 times and nothing changed.

I don't get this. How could the number drop when more votes have been counted?

Is it the number relative to others?

    Voted again.  Ang had the gradual, steady climb and now this: doldrums.  Do you think that (It couldn't be!) people are voting against Ang?   If so, we have to counter with more votes for him.  Whatever the explanation, keep voting for Ang Lee!

Ethan, to get the percent of votes Ang Lee got (3.31 at this time) you have to take the total number of votes for Ang and divide that by the total number of votes cast for everyone.

Example:  I vote for Ang and 9 others vote for someone else.  And would have a 10% rating.

If I vote for Ang and 1,000,000 vote for someone else then he would have a .0001% rating.
The more people that vote for someone else the more votes needed to move Ang up by just .01 percent.  In the above example (1 to 1,000,000), it would take 100 votes for Ang to bring him to .01%, assuming that nobody voted for anyone else.

Hope I didn't confuse you more.

Voted again too. Thanks, Patriot1 for the explanation.

Still 3.31. Maybe we need to vote against top 5 at the same time?

    The poll is still open! You can still access the poll and it is still taking votes. The top 5 have changed again. Howard Stern must be on the air.  Vote here:  http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1187225,00.html

Just went to the computer lab and voted at least from 20 computers. Still no change?  >:(

Not sure what's up with the poll. I also voted againt the top five below. After voted each one, it shows the numbers in red and these numbers didn't get updated. For example, after I voted Rain with 1, it shows the average 3.99 but on the page, it still shows him the highest rated with 4.61.

    *  Highest Rated
    * 1. Rain (4.61) ---> 3.99
    * 2. Dane Cook (4.53)  ---> 4.56
    * 3. Stephen Colbert (3.6) ---> 3.74
    * 4. Oprah Winfrey (3.54) ---> 3.8
    * 5. Howard Stern (3.53)  ----> 3.65

   After I voted for Ang the numbers remained the same. I clicked on Dane Cook and voted 1 and Ang Lee came in 4th with 3.59! in the red numbers. Voted for Ang again and no change. I voted 1 for Rain and no change. Some of the others have changed position, moved in or out of the top 5 since Ethan posted.  Frustrating poll but I'm going to keep voting. The other persons' supporters are!  Keep voting everybody!
