Great thread, thanks tpe
My favourite Jack without Ennis scene is quite an easy choice for me, but it might be a bit controversial for some. It's the whole bit where he meets Lureen. I think they would have made a really good couple if they had met in some sort of parallell universe where Jack wasn't gay, they look good together, and there's definitely a spark of chemistry between them. I know part of the attraction for Jack was her dad's money, but he was still interested enough to ask the barman about her in the first place. Of course, Lureen falls under his spell the minute she sets eyes on him, but Jack must have been used to having women fall at his feet, so I think it was more than just being flattered that she fancied him, there was definitely an attraction there, maybe not in a totally sexual way, and certainly not even comparable to Ennis, but Jack
is drawn to her. Another thing I like is how Jack goes, as someone summed it up perfectly on another thread, from "predator" to "prey", with Lureen. They both have the same go-get-'em approach to men, which is probably part of the attraction for Jack, and it's so sweet, but also kind of funny and sad (not to mention seriously sexy!

) all at once,to see him looking so nervous and unsure of himself, but still managing to cover it up and come across as Mr Stud-you-like, with that "fast or slow..." line

But as much as I love these scenes, the one that gets me is the one of Jack looking desolately into the distance when he's dancing with Lureen. I can't get over how brilliantly shot that scene is, with Lureen gazing into Jack's eyes, mentally screaming at him to kiss her, Jack tilting his head slightly, the back of Lureen's head, and then, when you expect to see them kissing, instead you see Jack staring into the distance, wishing it was Ennis he was holding :\'( :\'( :\'(
Sorry to go on about that scene, but you did ask...
I'll keep my Ennis choices brief, mainly because it's all been said already, and far better than I ever could
I can't choose between waiting for Jack before the reunion kiss, and finding the shirts. Just thinking about the latter can bring tears to my eyes, and the former is just adorable from start to finish
