I'm sure a number of us assumed Jack was talking about Randall. It never occurred to me that he would be involved with LaShawn. I believe from the beginning Jack didn't think it would have been wise to be upfront about Randall. Ennis's comments regarding mexico was proof that Ennis did not want to think of Jack with another man. To open up about an actual relationship with Randall would have been very risky.
I agree. I always thought he was talking about Randall, it never crossed my mind that he would have an affair with LaShawn, but that he told Ennis it was a woman he was seeing cause Ennis would have freaked out if he found out Jack was seeing another man. In a way, I wish he
had told Ennis about Randall, because it would have caused a similar argument to the one they had the next morning (worse probably), but once it was out in the open they would have had time to talk about it (unlike the next morning) and maybe they could have resolved things, with Ennis finally agreeing to be with Jack properly.
Thanks for the pic of David Harbour, JFT

I actually find him more attractive without the beard (although he doesn't really do anything for me either way), but that's probably because I have a deep rooted phobia about men with moustaches and beards

I think that's why I was so against Randall at first, but over time I've come to feel sorry for him more than anything. I can't blame him for trying it on with Jack, and let's be honest, Jack could've said no, but he chose not to, and Randall wasn't forcing him to do anything he didn't want to do. Randall was probably very upset when Jack died, and wouldn't have been able to grieve openly for him, which would've made it even harder for him

Randall's just another victim of the unfair society that prevented Jack and Ennis from being together in the first place
