BBM Hits Iceland
« on: Jan 17, 2006, 05:50 AM »
Just saw this posting on the BBC movie forum about BBM from someone who saw this in Iceland, so I thought I'd share it with you all:

"I saw this last night and thought it was terrific. The cinema was packed, though it seems to have had a pretty low key release here (Reykjavik).

Although the characters' gayness explains their action and inaction and provides the backdrop to the story, I'd echo MT's comment that this was a love story pure and (not very) simple. Pacing, actng, script, cinematography. Eerything was good. I hope Ang Lee keeps ranging around genres and styles. I can't imagine not seing one of his films on the big screen.

This morning, a BBC World Service news item about the Golden Globes described the film as "controversial". That says a lot. We may have moved on from 60s and 70s Wyoming but maybe not that much."
