I feel quite opposite, that scene is so perfect now, i don't wanna change a thing.

If you are in a shock - and I assume that Ennis was totally shocked - you don't cry, you just freeze, you get a feeling that this is something unreal, a scene from horror movie, emotions running over you like hurricane. Tears, crying, shouting, pain will come afterwards.

This is the latest I've found on the mystery of the missing Ennis scene. The clip hasn't turned up anywhere but someone claims to have it but is not able to upload it! How annoying is that!!

We have to be patient although it isn't easy at all for us brokies, curious as we are
toward every things concerning our BBM....However Esme told us to have seen this

I fall to the floor when Ennis says, tears stinging his eyes, "Jack, I swear ..." ... and I am POSITIVE that I can't handle seeing him actually break down and cry... honestly, I don't need his help to cry ...

I want every square inch of the film used put into a DVD. I want every minute of everyday put on film of everything that was happening while filming. I want to see everything. Put it all on a 6 pack of DVD's and put a $200 price on it and I will buy it. I would watch the actors eating lunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm really surprised too. Its so frustrating to hear of people who have seen it, or who have taped it and then discovering they have no way of uploading it anywhere! I'd rather I didn't know someone had a copy of it, to know how close we are to actually seeing it!

Please someone, anyone, get that clip and get it on here!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone have the clip from the Independent Spirit Awards, where they apparently showed a clip of Ennis in Jack's childhood bedroom leaning on the wall with his arm across his head crying? Man I would love to see that clip.

I have it on tape, but don't know how to upload on here. I know Your Tube had a clip of the show. Maybe you can search it on there. The clip was interesting to see because if you compare it to the cut used in the theaters, I think Ang made the better choice to use the one he did. The ISA clip version was a tad overwrought. Heath is rubbing his face against the shirt with this extreme pained look on his face, crying and falling against the wall. It was a bit over dramatic. The final cut version is much more subtle and true to Ennis' character.

dirtbiker, thanks for the info. Yes, the final cut is more true to the bare bones of the short story, and is much more subtle...

And the final cut saves us from all the emotive horror of it all...

I looked all over Youtube last night.Didn't see no Ennis crying into the shirts though?Could be listed under a certain name.The search engine on Youtube tends to be very specific,so it could be there but where i have no idea?I would love to see it.I like a good bit of drama and if it's Heath doing the dramatics even better.

It sounds like you all are missing something here. Ang Lee is a brilliant director. He filmed a lot, cut some, and gave us the most wonderful movie he could. If we see all the "bad" stuff he left out intentionally because it was just not right, it may spoil the movie for you. Taking a great movie and turning it into a mediocre one.
