The way Ennis says his name to Cassie

Did you notice the way Ennis adds "Del Mar" after "Ennis" when he says his name to Cassie ?

I found it was in memory of his first meeting with Jack.

Thanks for sharing your observation. It is great that you pointed it out. I thought of it too when watching. But forgot all about what I wanted to bring to forum after seeing the movie.

Yes. I feel the same way. First he said "Ennis" followed by Del Mar after a few seconds. How someone you love can really change you!

I love the way he says Del Mar to Cassie,
and if you listen----I think he accents differently to Jack than to Cassie.

I hear DEL Mar with he says it to Jack
and I hear Del MAR when he says it to Cassie.

And I just love listening to him say it!!!
Can hardly wait for the dvd release---I think I read March maybe, right after the Oscars.

He's such a ventriloquist.  Talks without moving his mouth.

I don't think they will be releasing the DVD until the theaters are finished with the movie and I don't think that's going to happen anytime too soon.  Maybe May, maybe not...

I think I'm gonna have to wait a while for the DVD here in France. I can't wait for it, just thinking about the possible extra features is getting me all excited. There has GOT to be a commentary.

Anyway, I did notice the way Ennis says his name to Cassie (only on second viewing, though). It warmed my heart. It's like, Jack is always with him somehow and constantly has an influence on him. I'm sorry, I'm incapable of being deep like you guys, I just loved that moment. :D

I noticed that too.  :)

When I said "Ennis Del Mar'" he make a pause.. like he was remember, his 1st meet with Jack Twist and his "Your folk stop, to Ennis?"

I noticed it the first time I saw BBM too.
I think Cassie reminds him Jack as they're both more open and they do the first step. So it must have remind Ennis their first encounter, and the fact that his folks gave him a name too  :)
