The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

I have to stop for tonight...but thank you so much, Rosie, for posting all these!  Until we can get to see the awards show or at least clips from it.  He is so perfectly perfect this evening.  So what else is new?

He will be eternally missed, but he will never be forgotten

Christopher Nolan, accepting the Best Supporting Actor Golden Globe on Heath's behalf.

He was, as an actor and a professional and a human being, one of a kind

Charles Roven, accepting Heath's BAFTA.

This award tonight would have humbly validated Heath's quiet determination to be truly accepted by you all here — his peers within an industry he so loved.

Kim Ledger, accepting Heath's Oscar.

I'm not totally certain why you think I would love this...but I totally do!  The coloring, the bad-boy-ness, even the cigarette.

kathy

Because it is a nice contrast in two very similar pix.  His expression on the righthand pic is softer and the lefthand one is harder.  :)

Poor Thomas.  Well, we're all a little sick, but I think he's actually the sickest, probably literally.  He probably always has to have smellling salts with him.  So what is the analgesic to cure Jake-love-sickness?  More Jake.

kathy

Yes, the only way to reconcile with an obsession is to give in to it!

Thomas, you like this clean-shaven Jake, yes?  And then, as the week went on, he let his face get fuzzy...

kathy

Clean-shaven or fuzzy, it's still Jake...

I always see certain pix such as this that I assume are from Highway, since that's the only movie I haven't seen.  Can't wait.  I hope he has a main part in it -- does he?  Not just a little part?

kathy

Yes, he plays a major part.  He plays it beautifully.

I love this!  I hadn't seen this pic of the four of them -- it's beautiful, all of them...and of course especially Jake.  (And I love Canada, too -- some of the same things they said.)

kathy

They have a lot of nice pix together.  :)
