Talk about a gorgeous profile.  And the shape of his hair on top enhances it.

kathy

I think he has a splendid profile.  :)

Thank you, Thomas.  I am absolved then.

kathy

You're welcome, kathy.

Here's a classic Jake pic:

Love this pic, and really love this artsed-up version.  Must figure out how to do that.

kathy

A lot of art inspired by him.  Some good, some not so good.  But it's the inspiration that counts.  :)

This is darling -- wonder what he was saying, doing.  (I often notice that double-jointedness in his hands -- just slight, but you can see he has some extra movement in his fingers, etc.  Hmmm...useful trait.)

kathy

I think he is commenting on the mark on the floor indicating where he is suposed to stand.  :)

I had noticed this too about his hands.  HIs fingers can be quite expressive.

Oh, I love this the best, too.  I love seeing him quietly within himself...

kathy

The play of light on his lashes is superb.

This one and the lower one: OMG!! Beautiful, very beautiful..
The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

My lord he is amazingly beautiful.. luminous.. everything..

You can say that again, Twisted. I just had to quote this picture, it is pretty special. The  eyes, the colour of his skin - especially across the cheeks, the lips, the moles, his hair - I don't think any words can capture how beautiful he looks in this.

Yes, St. Jake and the halo...and I enjoy these comparisons!

Also, love him in karate pants (and nothing else).

kathy

But Jonah only has a loincloth on!  ;)

Compare Jake's torso and arm in this pic and the kneeling neophyte in Masaccio's painting:

I'm studying very hard here Thomas, - only in the interests of art of course. ;)

I thought guys would like his buzzed-off hair, since so many guys do this.  So, you don't identify him at all by his hair.  I guess his hair is more a part of him, for me than for you.  In some pics of him without hair, though, as I've commented on, I totally see the Jake I know.  But mostly not.  But you do.  You are always looking at his eyes first, I think.

kathy

Form follows function.  Beautiful form, beautiful function.  His hair is indeed a part of the exquisite whole.  But even without the hair, there is exquisite form. :)

But doesn't it take you out of ennisjack.com when you do that?  Or do you have a separate browser window open and you copy and paste it into there?

kathy

Yes, do it in a separate browser.  And be sure to cut and paste the URL.  Don't just click on the link.

This one especially unique.  I mean, all baroque and such, and his classic simplicity looks so elegant against all that fru-fru.  He looks good on ultra-modern, on baroque, on rustic, on Ikea, on anything.

kathy

He is good even without a sofa.  :)

Hmm...Jake and youth and soul and angst.  That youthful angst is indeed appealing; and the non-angst more mature is indeed appealing, too.  And as you say, soulful both ways.

kathy

You almost think you can rad his soul by looking at his eyes.

Me, too, TDAT = beautiful.  I have to say I rather am liking his shaped brows here, though I usually say I prefer them left alone.  And I like his interesting shirt, with double button tab thing -- he wears interestingly different white shirts often.

I love them...but I think it's a touch odd, how physical they are with each other.  But then, we weren't physically affectionate like this in my family.  But anyway, I always think of how she's older sister to his baby brother, and I see that a lot, in how she is the one holding him.  She's probably adored him all his life.  Maybe.  Maybe they fought like cats and dogs.  Maybe they came to respect and really like each other only when a bit older.

kathy

Yes, it is nice to see elder sister and baby brother who are also best of friends.  :)

This thread is overwhelming me a bit!  I shall take a break.  :)

His hair can be quite quirky at times, especially in his younger days.  An example:

This is beyond everything..
