The most difficult scene was the paragraph where, on the mountain, Ennis holds Jack and rocks back and forth, humming, the moment mixed with childhood loss and his refusal to admit he was holding a man.

- Annie Proulx -

From the vibration of the floorboard on which they both stood, Ennis could feel how hard Jack was shaking.

Omg look at him in this pic...he is totally mind-blowingly gorgeous.

I think I might just pass out.

I am so jealous of that woman....its Gillian Anderson, right?  Whoever she is, I hate her.

Here's one of my faves in the brown suit  :d)

“What Jack remembered and craved in a way he could neither help nor understand was the time that distant summer on Brokeback when Ennis had come up behind him and pulled him close, the silent embrace satisfying some shared and sexless hunger."

BTW, see, when I saved the above pic, it came up as a .jpeg.  It's only Twisted's that come up as a Bitmap, and the drop-down doesn't give any other choices.

kathy

How interesting, the bitmap vs jpeg thing.  At least, you can always convert the bitmap into a jpeg.

Pix for all seasons.  :)

Yes, this is a fascinating pic.

Okay, that's very interesting.  Jake went from being Jack to being Swoff; and Heath went from Ennis to Casanova.

kathy

Jake suffered by having 3 serious movies out all at the same time.  Jarhead did not get enough credit here in the US, although the critics were mostly favorable.  Jake was excellent in this film.  And it is not your typical war movie.

Jake said that Swoff was one of his most challenging roles.  I believe him.

I love this one!  I wouldn't exactly know how to describe his look in this...so ambiguity is a good word.  I'll have to study it more...

kathy

Jake has many distinguishable looks.   Truth to tell, the one I love the most is what I call his "enigmatic" look, or the "look of the sphinx".  He is so beautiful in this guise that it can bring you to tears.

I looked for an example, and can cite this one for now (his enigmatic look):

God I love this one!  I've not seen it.  The lighting is lovely -- highlights everything beautiful about his face.

I think he's saying "I know I have a beautiful hollow at the base of my throat, for those of you who appreciate such things."

kathy

I would trade the Virgin's girdle for his neck.  :)

Oh! Oh! Oh!  I haven't seen these two from this wet series.  Whew, indeed.  And yes, especially the one on the left.  This might be the hottest pic of Jake ever.  Though even when he's not being "hot" he is hot anyway.  He's so cool that he's hot.

kathy

kathy, our Jake preferences are very similar.  IT's hard to define, but you know it when you see it.  :)
