And yes, fortuitous that Heath and Jake came into this movie -- they both have the gorgeous subtlety to play these parts with visible (but not charicatured) emotion.

And I never noticed that unconscious fingering of his wedding ring that Ennis is doing.  Maybe this is a cap from the full-screen version?

Yes, I always noticed that -- throughout the whole scene from when they break apart from the first hug.  He wants to kiss him so bad...  Even in between kisses, he still is looking at Ennis's mouth; and even when Ennis pulls away and nuzzles (is that the right word?) him when he starts to leave.  Plus, Jack is just so f**king stunned at the whole thing, never expecting the reception he got!

Hmm indeed.  That's interesting, now that you mention it -- Jake does watch Heath's lips/mouth sometimes when Heath is talking.  But not always.  But he sure was quite frequently looking at Heath in some way or another.

No, I didn't notice that -- fascinating!  I know the feeling of ears getting all hot, but didn't think that they might look red.  Or maybe it because his ears were being manhandled by Heath during that slam-against-the-wall kiss.
