One thing I want to point out while it's in my mind:
The hats of Ennis and Aguire here are strikingly similar. Not so much the shape but the color and shades of rain drops.
It seems to mark them with maybe the same quality of sorts, perhaps with homophobia or other form of disguise or protective exterior. I almost want to suggest their attire must need to be saturated from the outside in, for the occurence of change from within has never been an option.
For instance, Jack's role is to penetrate Ennis, metaphorically speaking of course; this is how Ennis the stoic will absorb what it is to truly love, as this knowledge was never really 'born' into Ennis.
Maybe a long shot, but the 2 pokadotted hats seem to mention
something in place of so many betrayed feelings.
