I don't think it's animosity exactly.  But if indeed Jack and Alma's eyes are meeting here, it is some intense competition going on.  I just love this shot, of this very moment of that extremely awkward few minutes.  The way Ennis is glancing over at Jack.  Those floorboards still vibrating!  Can't wait to get the hell out of there!
