Yeah, that's how I feel about this scene, its one that we dont really take too much notice of in the big scheme of things..but those furtive glances are indications that, as alicia so perfectly put it, the seeds of attraction are being planted.... <^(

(by the way, I love Ennis's hair in this scene!  So cute. ;D

Yes,this glance is a reflex of what he is in all his life in general and in his relationship with Jack in this concrete scene; a contradiction.He's the shy here,in comparison with the more direct and bolder Jack's glance; but,however,he's who takes the initiative looking at the other boy in a way that could be hidden-as it was the ones Jack gives to him while he was shaving and which Ennis wasn't surely aware of...-.The same than he took the initiative somehow in FNIT; giving and increasing Jack's first step.I don't know if this makes sense...

Thanks MPJ. 

All of this makes Ennis's reaction in FNIT even more surprising.   The shyness hides great hunger and desire within.  Ennis could be decisive when he lost his shyness and inhibitions.  Pity that this happened very rarely...

I know dear... and tomorrow is 7th of November... the day when boys were supposed to meet at the Pine Creek, but the red stamp said that Jack wasn't coming.... :_(
