Another cute scene I love is when they get caught in the hailstorm and take cover in the tent.  Ennis catches the hailstones in his hat and shows one to Jack. I adore how child-like Ennis is here, like he can't believe the size of the stones and has to show Jack!!

I know this is a very heartbreaking scene, and I don’t know if it is because of my passion for older Ennis, but, in the middle of the rough sea of sadness with my heart so broken, I can’t help smiling when Ennis said to Mama Twist that he can’t ate cake....
His face, Jesus, his face there….He was trying to smile to Mama Twist, grateful for her kind offering, and his voice was so sweet and shy, but he was so sad that he failed miserably in his attempt to smile. That’s endearing.    Then, when OMT said that Jack used to talk about Ennis, he looked again delicious, with a hint of a little smile in his face, eyes full of love and regret, but still full of surprise, pride and joy because now he knew for sure that his little darling had never quit dreaming about their life together and even he had talked about that to his very cruel father. Ennis looks like he was thinking “Jack f***ing Twist, you crazy fool, you never gave up, right?”. I mean, someone can tell you that you look nice and that for sure is something we like, even if you believe it or not; but when someone else tell us that “that very person” has told him/her that you look beautiful it’s something different, right? Like if it’s more special when someone shares precious things about you with somebody else.
In spite of all that immensely unbearable pain, Ennis just for a brief moment was genuinely happy finding new things about his Jack, realizing that Jack truly wanted to live with him and thought about him every time, every day, every moment. I think Ennis learned that while he kept Jack like a dark secret, Jack spoke about him to Lureen (BBM was his favourite place) and to his parents too, admitting something as important and intimate as he wanted to share his life with Ennis. I’ll say it again, I can see pride there, yes, he was proud of his brave Jack there, because you have to be so brave to keep fighting for a dream during 20 years even when your partner keep saying no.
Ennis was so damn moved; that was so unexpected, he didn’t see it coming, and he was between the smile and the tears, and his face there is one of the most marvelous thing I’ve ever seen. **sigh** Melts my entire being. Not cute, but f***ing BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

What made him so cute was that you sensed that he was nervous, but couldn't hide his excitement and happiness.

I like your use of the word "dopey" to describe it.  It clearly looked like he was "high" on Jack.  The kiss must have been like strong wine -- it intoxicated them.  And Ennis's smile hid his nervousness as much as it revealed his happiness and excitement.  Very cute, indeed.

I see noone has posted in here for a while, but I'm quite new to this, so I wanted to add my thoughts.  I haven't decided on the cutest yet, will probably watch the film again this weekend (any excuse) to try to make a decision.  With regards to sexiest, it has to be the bit during the reunion kiss where they have finished kissing and jack is holding onto Ennis's shirt, and Ennis does the most gorgeous look to one side to see if anyone has seen them, and just at that moment his shirt button pops undone - I think the moment has just been posted as a screencap by Keren-b - oo la la I just love it!!!
