BBM is the winner according to most Oscar odds makers.

Yeah, but the odds on Crash have shortened significantly in just a week. Last week, the odds on Crash with UK bookmakers were from 7/1 to 9/1. This week they're from 3/1 to 9/2. That's a big move, and it means alot of money has been bet on Crash in that period. In the parlance, 'a steamer'.

I don't like the sound of this.  :-\

Yeah it is disturbing.  Is "Crash" becoming the ANTI - BBM film?  Are the reactionaries on the attack?

There seems to be a lull in BBM advertising.  All of the Oscar ballots have been mailed and they are not due until 5 pm (PST) on February 28th.  Personally I'd like to see more interviews with the cast, Ange Lee, James Schamus and Diana Ossana.

Hopefully the lull in Brokeback advertising is just a marshalling of resources. Hit 'em late and hard.

The advantage of Crash for the old dinosaurs is that they can point to it and say that they're not prejudiced: it's a film about racial tension, after all. It's also about as subtle as being hit over the head with a crowbar, but when has subtlety mattered to people like them..?

I just hope that the passion for Brokeback in places like this is taken note of by the more enlightened members of the Academy.

Perhaps what's needed to push them over the edge is an attack on Brokeback by that bilious old hatemonger Bill O'Reilly... I have my fingers crossed!  ;D

Well, it shouldn't take much to provoke that! All we need is for someone to write to O'Reilly's website, wailing that it's terrible that such a deviant, homosexual movie like BBM is going to take the Oscars, and O'Reilly will go insane - he won't be able to shut up!  ROTFLMAO!!
