I think the skinhead look really suits him. Very nice...
Yes, I also love it!
I'm sorry, you know me...I just have to say something about the word "skinhead." Maybe it means absolutely nothing to most of you -- just a descriptive word for buzzed-off hair. But skinhead was what they called the neo-Nazis, white supremecists, in the 80's or whenever. Maybe they still do. It just has such horrible connotations. I suppose it could be one of those things where we reclaim the word (like blacks get to reclaim the "N" word for themselves and diffuse its meaning, among themselves) or like we women (or men) get to call each other words that previously had very negative associations. Okay, that's it. Another word, skinhead, to add to my previous soap box about "wife beater" shirts.

Oh, :-[ I think I must have reclaimed it already in my naivety.....it only means the name of the haircut to me. My husband has it. It's what we've always called it, and because we use it in innocence, I've never really thought about it before. But now the connotations have been pointed out to me I won't be using it again. It is sometimes also known as a 'number 1' or 'number 2' or 3 or 4....depending on the setting on the clippers.
Sorry for being
I just had to explain that I don't think Heath looks like a NeoNazi, and wouldn't assosciate him with one. I've used the same word on the Jake thread, I didn't mean anything by it, just a name for a haircut. I won't be using it again! Sorry folks!
You don't have to be sorry -- you didn't know. But you know now. And I truly knew that you didn't mean to associate Heath (or Jake) with the Neo Nazis -- that would have been inconceivable, coming from you. I know it's the case that some people don't know the connotations of this word, but I always point it out to them, so we don't use it anymore, unless you are talking about those people. (And it
is still being used, by the way -- I just saw on one of the Law & Orders the other night. Not that that's reality, but apparently at least the writers feel that law enforcement would call Neo Nazis skinheads in the 21st century.)
I like calling that haircut a number one, number two, etc. Amusing. I call it a buzz cut.
